Having two riders in a five man group night be better than having one in a three man group. It also means Carr can just sit on, although since he had been out for there long, he probably could have got away with that anyway. It doesn't really look like they will close the gap though.

Vlasov for sure. Smoked both Roglic and Pogacar in the sprint in Varesine last autumn.

Good to see Rui Costa finessing the chasing group for 6th as well, I think EF must've been at altitude for these early races like they did last year, it's good points in the bag for them.

Simon Carr chapeau! - PCS had it at 134 km in the break and winner. Now that's "durability" (2024's word of the year)! EF getting in those early UCI points. Vlasov has had a training crash so the bandaged elbow and McNulty succumbed to cramp so my pick was close but no cigar.
