To clarify - yes ADAMS, that basterd simpleton child of a computer system tracking test results could potentially flag a low value mid-GT, but that's as far as it would get, imo.

It's a great clue as to what Cookson's actually working on. Broadcast, not doping.

Dear Wiggo said:I don't see any difference, to be honest.
I do see a GB team caning GTs, a GB UCI president and a GB IOC president, however. Very handy, innit?

Creedie has stepped down from the IOC Ethics Commission to focus on presidency of WADA.

So we have
GB: David Brailsford - team manager of ridiculous performance upgrades
GB: Cookson - UCI president and son who works / worked for DB / Team Sky
GB: Creedie - WADA president

Another pressing issue to be looked into by the great reformer. Hooray...
I really can't see why the rules need to change. I like having two different records; one that is comparable across time, another with the gain of new technology.roundabout said:http://velonews.competitor.com/2014...ign=Feed:+cyclingrightnow/velonews+(VeloNews)

From what I get from this, there are two atm, the absolute and the comparable one.oldcrank said:My friend, at this time there is only the record that

likely bring back the record that allows 'technology.'
Before Cookson was elected, I posted in the other
Cookson thread that, if elected, he would try to
restore the Absolute Hour Record (i.e. using disc
wheels, pursuit bars, etc.) because many of the
wheel, frame, equipment sponsors that support
professional cycling were in favour of it. Of course,
my post was slammed by the usual reactionaries.
Not surprisingly, when I posted a link a couple of
months back (in this thread I believe) that UCI/Mr.
Cookson had appointed Dimitris Katsanis to look
at a number of equipment related regulations,
including the Hour Record, the Anti-Brit Brigade
again got their knickers in a twist.
However, all that aside, at this time the UCI only
recognizes the Athletes Hour Record, but will probably
restore the Absolute Hour Record (exact rules yet
to be determined) at least in part due to requests
from major equipment sponsors, as I suggested
last year was likely to happen.
Yes, my friend, but since 09/09/2000 the UCI has onlyNetserk said:From what I get from this, there are two atm, the absolute and the comparable one.

Gives equipment companies the chance to showcase their wares, but ensures that there isn't a step change due to completely new positions (superman etc).
I really don't see why this is actually worthy of more than 5 mins of presidential time.
