If he is at least at the same level of TDF 2013 he can showboat all day long,i wouldn't mind it.I hope he will attack on every opportunity,berserk mode all day long.And what's wrong with his Vuelta 2012, was a decent performance and he delivered some spice to the race.

I don't get what the fuss is all about over his 6th place finish. Just before the crash he was level with the other GC riders like Nibali about 25-30 back where they're supposed to be. The reason Froome finished 6th is because he snuck by the crash on the left (right for the riders) hand side whereas the others got held up on the right..

But the larger point remains true: Froome does not know how to save himself. Witness the 2012 Vuelta, for example, when he was leading out Swift in one of the early stages. Or his riding in stage two of the Dauphine this year. When he is in unbeatable form, like the Tour last year, it doesn't matter; he had enough of a buffer by the time he started to tire in the third week. But if he is not way above his competition, it could prove the difference between victory and defeat.

True. Froome rides almost overly aggressive (even compared with a notorious attacker like AC).

However, IF in form (and we should assume that he is right now) this usually works out. Point is: Nobody knows how strong Froome is this year. We have seen all from AC already, (improved compared to last year), but due to the illness in spring and the crash in the Dauphinée, Froome is a sphinx. It may well be that he will blow on the first serious challenge the course and AC throw at him.

Personally, I tend to take this sprint as a hint that he IS strong as hell. So I guess (and hope) the more likely scenario is that he will - again - crush AC i the mountains. But, unlike last year, only within the last 2 k of the respective stages. Let's wait and see.

It wasn't a waste, Sky will now have the Team car near the front in case something goes wrong, on these narrow roads of stage 2 it could be crucial.

To be fair the main car is not there for Porte, but imagine had they been even further back.


Anyway not a bad performance from Sky today, early days but it seems they have got strength in numbers here compared to Saxo, Movistar when the pace is tough.

i though it was a main car but that bike change is too slow. Now Nibali has the advantage to have the car close by on stage 5.

Yes good news for him, Astana may have some Work to do over the next week though. OPQS won't be helping out on the flat stages all day any more.

Why should Cannondale chase? Anyway with so many riders far back in GC Astana should let the break get a big gap and take it easy.

That is Froome for you. Sometimes I think he gets so excited with demonstrating his strength that he wastes it foolishly. It didn't come back to bite him in last year's Tour, but I think it could this year.

Sure he does. He also wants his rivals to gain less on him on flat stages, especially now that he is leading the competition. It's an advantage for Sagan if a break takes the stage tomorrow. In case you haven't noticed there's a bigger difference point wise between 1st and 3rd than there is between 5th and 7th.

You can troll and BS all you want but I was replying to an original comment on Team cars and Froome going for a high place to secure a car near the front. Don't worry we will have plenty of time to discuss Froome when we get to the mountains and makes Nibali's 2 seconds look like a single grain of sand in the desert!

he also wants to win the stage even though most likely he will lose to Kittle, but only after you tried. We will see if Cannodale work or not tomorrow.
