I want to see Froome in his 100% form at Vuelta,in full alien mode. There is no point why you dont want to see it.Its good for cycling,Froome is an attractive rider, there is no doubt about that.

But based on last Tour (depends on Burgos tho) he might be worried about Quintana, dont forget it was freakin tough and then impossible to drop those steel legs.

Lets hope we will see what we havent seen this Tour.Good battle for the win.

It won´t be an easy race for Froome. Even if he is at 100%, something I seriously doubt. With this parcour, guys like Quintana or Purito have a clear advantage.
On TTT, Movistar is as good as Sky. Probably better at La Vuelta. Purito won´t lose more that 10-15 seconds. Long ITT is not totally flat. Froome could win 2 minutes with them. Not much more. Last TT won´t make huge difference.
With all these steep short climbs and the bonus, a guy like Joaquim is very dangerous.

Agree, its a very good route for Murito,if he will be in 2012 form (which I doubt) he can win this thing by a minute .About Quintana, hopefuly he trained explosivness in tunja (ofc its very unsual to improve that in 3 months)

agree, I hope Froome is 100% and we have a great battle

i don't know i think he's strong. at one point he took such a strong pull, he blew all the team apart, maybe it wasn't him? we shall see on cumbres verdes but i feel he's at tour level almost and with big big hunger. and he didn't came here to fool around, he's not that type

chris is ready for this:

It was briefly mentioned in the race thread but credit to Froome for going and grabbing the 2 seconds yesterday. He get's a lot of stick for being an unadventurous rider but it's good that he shows something different once in a while, Why not take free time if it's there.

It s been a competitive Vuelta and SKY and Froome are been protagonist.
Yerterday move for Valverde was useless and he waste an importante energy he could have wasted getting bonus in the end, but Froome's moves was clever.
Valverde is really fast and he has not any bonus yet, and he is not taking advantage of the hot that suits him perfectly.

I'm not sure if it's just a "Kirbyism", but he's mentioned on a number of occasions that the team support cars are arranged in order of GC. From that point of view, moving your team car up a place or two ahead of a big stage today would seem fruitful. I think Froome did move up at least one place due to his 2 second bonus. Aside from that, on an uneventful day I think it's worthwhile having something to focus on as crashes tend to occur when minds drift.

Tactics

He gains 2 secs on Stage 5 Vuelta and then slows down on the sprint finish to lose 5 seconds? Had Froome stuck to back of sprinters would have gained 7 secs. You can see he wakes up too late to the error and hammers on again.

However you could say the same about nearly every GC guy couldn't you? They all were caught behind the sprinters.

Great ride when i thought he wa sin trouble most of climb but his tempo is insane. He got through the group and blew Quintana up big time. Contador he could not shake but these 2 will fight for La Vuelta.
