Let's not get ahead of ourselves, we're only discussing the sorry state of the competition for now. Already it's a bunch of whining and misdirection over headwinds here and "slipping chains" there. Still some marvelous displays waiting on us to stick the knife in.
But, of course.

Yeah, I got the same problem with my bike, new cassette, new chain, new chainrings, but it just keeps "slippin" after I've already been riding at the same speed for a bunch of kilometres. It magically improves once I drop off the record pace on Colombiere

Some people are so gullible. The time to start believing interviews is *after the race*.

Yeah, because it makes so much sense to letting oneself be distanced just to jump effortlessly back in to the group right after.

The group was accelarating and Nibali said that, not Valverde himself, you obtuse troll.

EDIT: Till today, I was full of doubts what was going on. About Froome's shape, in comparison with Quintana's and Nibali's. But It looks like Froome in probably mediocre shape of 2nd week is just enough. But of course, let's wait, we have still so many tough stages.

What is all this "yours" and "ours"? Has someone been deputized (I made up that word) and now has, or think that they have, authority to say who can and cannot post and where? Didn't I just see you sullying the Valverde thread?

Let’s stop with the hostility please folks, as Angliru said above, there is no need for this ‘ours’ and ‘yours’ nonsense. People can post where they like (within rules of course), without being judged on being for or against a rider.

I could easily interpret some of the above posts as baiting and flaming, so please don’t make me take this further.

I dont understand how SKY rode today. I cant understand Thomas attacking and Froome attacking later as well, and when Froome was close to Thomas, this one attacked...it is looks like 2 leaders.

Booth Froome and Thomas, have showed always they are very strong at the end of a long flat week, in the first mountain stage..Yesterday it was a forst moutain stage, so Froome couldnt do today an exhibition as in La Pierre Saint martin...a better day for him, becouse today second mountain stage and no flat in the stage, but anyway enough to show his hight level. Thomas has showed another Tour a big potential in the forst mountains, but he has to show he can hold that level all the Tour.

For Domoulin it was the same, he is strong after a flat long week...but he is no so good climber as Froome, nor even Thomas in a day lke today, but Domoulin is more reliable than Thomas.

Froome is the favourite to win this Tour and make history.

Froome looks mighty strong but Giro fatigue might hit him anytime. In this shape he should go for the iconic stage win tomorrow.

I dont think Giro is a problem for and endurace rider as Froome to win la Tour...he started Giro not at his best and this year he had one week more. If he ride la Vuelta maybe he could note it... So there it would depend on luck and wich kind of contenders he face, and how fresh are them.

Domoulin and Froome has showed, as Landa last year, that Giro is not a big problem to be strong at le Tour.

Time for another update, huh

Valverde, Fuglsang gone, Van Avermaet.. not sure he is home yet. So I'm pretty much 100% so far, just need the Welsh guy to have his off day tomorrow and that's that.

Who knew we needed to have a second GC contender on Sky to get an actual race on a MTF nowadays.

Yeah, one of the 'scrubs' in front of Froome, as you so called Thomas in all your grace, just won today's stage and extended his lead. Good call.

Looks like you got someone new to cheer for. It's not the worst possible choice right now until the inevitable collapse. Though it has a bit of a shallow touch to jump riders once a new one wins something.

It is nice to enjoy a rider as Froome, an historic rider.

Anyway he will have some serious defeats this race, one of them at least for Landa, but I think he will win this race. That would be great to shut up jelous Hinault and for Quintana to think twice his words.

Froome was just stretching his legs with those "attacks" as the plan was always today for G, tomorrow for Froomey

Yes, maybe, Froome needs to warm up and once he is on fire he need to acelerate... But I think they wanted to attack foist with Thomas, and later with Froome, and Thomas help Froome and take stage and leader...But not to put time Thomas to Froome. This in the case rivals were weaks at it was. But as I said, today good day for complete riders as Dumo, Roglic, Froome or Thomas..tomorrow will be a better day for pure climbers as Landa, Bardet, Quintana...Tomorrow Thomas could fade ...

I have doubts that Thomas will fade so early in the race and his attack yesterday was a late one which shouldn't affect him too much but the other climbers mentioned need to show something. No doubt Martin will attack again.
