it is a bad result, even with the change of route and the team being second. Hope to be better with good weather at Occitanie.

Anyway I heard the comentators in italian (similar to spanish) Froome had some problems today. so I have to wait to know everything to have a better opinion. But maybe I dint understad well and the speak about the year...
it is not normal he climbed at the same time the other day in his recon the first part of this Mont Ventoux, that today in the middle of a big group going full gas in a race, when he climbed later the usual hard Mont Ventoux from Bedoin...So something doesn't add up.
What are you on about? It's exactly in line with all of his previous results in recent years. You act like this was some kind of anomaly.

But sure there was some kind of misterious problem he must have had...again. Maybe he's riding with a draging disc break for 2 years now.

He finished top 15 in Mercan Tour in a stronger field so no it's clearly a bad day.

Doing so little racing might become an issue.

Actually, that he was only 3 odd minutes out was a better result than most of his races this last several years! But that likely because there was only one ascent, if it had gone two, I think he'd have lost the traditional quarter hour.

I waiting to see the stage again, becouse I think I understand bad. Italian is similar to my lenguage, but not the same...He did better past year before to get ill at Dauphine,. He was at similar speed alone the other day in a recon that today the race..and a climb of about 5 % slopes a peloton in competition goes normally faster.

And of course the result you say in similar to ptrevious years.. he was in le Tour, a race with much more level than this one third in one of the Queen stages and with riders fightheen for GC in another mountain stage..and every day trying the break,etc... Of course it was a very hot race...and he wasnst fighteen for GC....but dont say always this level, becouse is not true.

Well, I just started to watch the race....Froome had a mechanical at 52 Km to the line.., it is som e time to upload the image, but you can see that if you can watch the race again...He was at the front of the group and he had to comebacj to the front again, at the more or less begining of the Ventoux climb, becouse flase flat, but little dow hill to the summit from 52 Km to go...
Of course he wouldnt be to win, but of course he coudl have loss one minute in another circunstances.
And of course, there were something that didnt add up.
;)

I see now that another mechanical when chasing with another riders among the cars, he need to stop twiace and this second time. First time was chain problem.so, he was the centre of images and French comentators (I think Jalabert) during several Km.

So a flat 52 kms from the finish made him lose 2 minutes?

he stopped 2 times. There were cross wind up there. if he lose contact and he wanst in a group and he wanst looking for any result, the team did the job, it is normal. 2 minutes is nothing, he is not a protected rider who has the team to work for putting him on the front again as when he was leader. If you do that extra effort, you are going to pay it latter, for sure. and everything change. You mean 52 to the finish, but the race was shor and full gas for that reason and it was almost everything climb frome that point...it is not like if you have a flat in a moment the peloton is quite.

He was today at a high spin when he was chassing.

For me everythin goes as planned.

Well at least it’s all to plan.

What is the plan it’s going according to? To fight for number five or to fight for top 25 at the tour?
To fight for victory and make history. If people as Vingegard have some problem, of course...I am not in the moon, I am realistic. It is going to be dificult, for sure. If he is top 30 It would be something great in his circustances, of course, and It is the máximum It seems he could get if everything goes well and he improve his level. But dreams are there and with him everything is posible. It is a race with hot, the race suits him better, but as well the race with more level. But for that, he has first to start le Tour and at the moment he doesnt have results for that.

It's a shame they shortened the Ventoux challenge. He needs to get these hard miles into the legs as part of his tune up for the Tour. Pretty disgraceful from the organization to tamper with his preparation like that, I'm pretty sure if they did it twice and properly he would've won today.

Absolutely. One Ventoux ascent is more like a sprint for Froomey, who excels in longer efforts. Not sure about two Ventoux climbs but he would've surely demolished the competition had there been three!
