A new bad accident for Chris Froome. According to Equip, he was the victim of an accident with a car while training today and could be "seriously injured".
He remained conscious and has spoken with his entourage "before being an urgently heli-sported in the hospital, where he was immediately examined for fractures. It happened near Saint-Raphaël.

In some ways, it's fitting that a man whose final years as a cyclist were a figurative car crash sees his career ended by a literal one.

That being said, it's a shame that there will be no fitting sendoff for him, not to mention that having to recover from a major injury one more time is going to suck.

Agree, this is horrible news.
Sadly, his glittering career did not end at the 2025 Vuelta, which would have been fitting.
Instead he suffers another very serious crash, sustaining major injuries.
Get well soon Chris, we all wish you a complete recovery.
