webvan said:Well that was probably a good idea...did she do that recently?
Buffalo Soldier said:It's too bad though, since I really used to like Froome.
I liked his attacking style, but I don't like quitters.
I wouldn't have minded if he would have gone back on his bike, and abandoned after the first pavé. But judging by the comments here, quitting after a first setback in a career ever is part of modern cycling.

Pricey_sky said:He got back on the bike after Tuesday's crash and again after the first one on Wednesday. When he went down for the 3rd time in 2 days he looked in a lot of pain and did not move the wrist at all. If his wrist was that bad that he was struggling to grip the bars (this happens when you have a wrist injury!) then what more could he do? I think there are very who would have carried on in his terrible position after the last crash.
Moose McKnuckles said:I know you Skybots have zero knowledge of cycling before 2011, but you may have heard of Tyler Hamilton racing to a top 5 finish with a broken shoulder and hurting so badly that he had his teeth capped after the race due to grinding them.
Pricey_sky said:Not everyone Is crazy enough to carry on racing when they are injured.
Moose McKnuckles said:Nope. There are champions and there are frauds. Froome has ensconced himself in the latter category.
Pricey_sky said:Well there are many champions who have been frauds, even in the peleton today. Unfortunately this isn't the clinic so it ends there.
Moose McKnuckles said:It's called the "peloton". Since you've watched cycling for so many years.
I sympathize with you on some level. Many US fans were the same way with Armstrong, who turned out to be a bigger fake than Froome will ever be. You're on the same level of denial.

“We’re very early on in the grand scheme of things here, there’s a lot of racing still to go, and Richie is eighth on GC. He is a fantastic rider, who’s been climbing better than anyone in the team in recent weeks, so it’s all still to play for
Publicus said:Well Big Dave said Porte has been climbing better than anyone on the team for weeks, so maybe Froome was the real Plan B.![]()
maxmartin said:I listened to the interview, i believed he said "better than ever."
