Chris Horner - how come this guy doesn't have a thread yet???

Come on - If anybody deserves to land in the clinic for his recent exploits and to be held up as an example for merely winning here an there I think Horner's the go-to man du jour, right?

Maybe beetroot juice is really that good, but he must surely have had some OJ as well...

When LA told the world he wanted to win the Tour again in his late thirties there was a lot of bashing about it. How come it doesn't create a similar clinic response when Horner's wants to do the same with a far less impressive background and at an even older age?

What is he trying to prove? That the rest of the peloton is clean since a re-filled 40-year-old can match and beat the fresh, young, fit specimens up an aptly names mt Baldy?

Or is it simply that it's too easy? Nothing to discuss, really, is there?

Horner is a turncoat who now kneels before Lance to cater to his every wish. If any, we should nto pay attention to this fool as it will only weaken focus on the real issues at hand. UCI corruption, and Lance Gunderson's "ill-gotten" position.

Once Gunderson Junior goes down, so will the rest of his yesmen.

Horner rode for some nefarious teams in the past yes. However, he has never been a yes man to the magnificant Lance, he has always been an independent operator. People i know who train with him,yes Chris will ride with anyone, are pretty much blown away by his enthusiasm for cycling and raw power. If anyone has a problem with a 40 year old who has taken care of himself and think Chris is a cheat, well go ahead and prove it.
In the meantime use old lance as a punching bag if it so wills ye. As much satisfaction as smoking a Marlboro eh?

I think he deserves one for sure. His name has appeared in lot of threads dismissing him as a clean rider given his age and performances.

But definitely it would appear he been rolling back the years with something!

But he had better be careful about it because he has Armstrong on on side who hates anyone stealing him limelight (just ask Contador) and NAS/FEDs/WADA on the other shaking their heads at a 39yr old flying up mountains and looking good while doing it.

At least there's only a tiny risk he'll test positive - they'll need to catch up with him first, which isn't easy at that speed!

i've always liked chris horner's because i respect the work guys like him do as super domestiques, and partly because he was always seemed friendly amicable in post race interviews/vids. i wonder how well he would have done last year if he didn't have to waste time looking after lance & levi? nice to see he got his due rewards at the ToC, but (just about with any multi-day tour winner nowadays) god, i hope he's clean.

So the fact that Horner and Levi are best buddies and Levi was doped by Allen Lim for the Tour de France (according to Landis) sits well with you?

If you think Horner and Levi are riding clean, you are kidding yourself. Levi had an off-score of like 132.9 or something too. Levi is part of the Lance Omerta and the feds are gonna John Gotti the whole La Cosa Nostra.

Please get a clue.

There has been a tendency for us self righteous Brits, completely unfairly, to brand Italians and Spanish as dopers and look at Northern Europeans and the French as clean. We like Thor and Cav. We dont like Bertie and Ricco.

I realise that there are plenty of cases against this including , Ulrich, Riis, Millar.

However there is now a danger that US riders put the latin europeans in the shade for the casual bike fan.

Me. The clinic has brought me to the conclusion that almost all of them are at it. There are simply more Italians and Spanish in the peleton than Brits and Danes so more of them get caught.

Horner and Levi are not best buddies. Horner made his feelings about US Postal known before he joined Lance's gang. I think Levi is doped to the gills, and I have no doubt Horner is as well, but please don't insult Horner by lumping him in with Bottle Leipheimer.

I hope Levi gets busted along with Lance's crew. He's been part of the omerta for a long time.

Yeah. 6.73? I don't care if that's helped by wind, weather and the planets aligning... He's not really at 100% here. I suspect he might rip the TdS up like no tomorrow.

This is pretty stupid, not on your part mind you. So if you're going to have racist and self-righteous views, why put the French in with the Anglo-Germanic societies?

I mean isn't French a Latin tongue? And isn't France also a Mediterranean nation?

Doping is practiced in the North, just as it is in the South. If anything the Latin peoples are just less ingenuous.

When Horner rode for Lotto he wasn't good enough to help Jurgen Vandenbroeck in the mountains. Now he's winning the Tour of California...

In the 2007 Tour he could almost stay with Evans until the point where things kicked off, but he didn't show a great deal of climbing form. Outclimbed by none other than Zubeldia and Popovych IIRC.

I guess that was four years ago now, and he was inexperienced and hadn't completely matured physically. Now that he is in his prime he is more competitive than his (now) teammates.

Horner's and Popo's careers have basically gone in opposite directions since that Tour. Popo moves away from the Hog, goes back but still doesn't reach his 2007 levels, gets stopped on the highway, his house raided, and he's one of the first to fall out of breaks in the Giro. Horner moves to the Hog and becomes a stage racing sensation, once he overcomes a couple of interrupted seasons.

Please you forgot, Pope Benedict XVI also doped to give mass at midnight. And yesterday Obama was doping in Ireland!!! I assume you are probaly the only rider in the planet who has not doped.

While you ask people to get a clue maybe you should just get a life!!

Maybe they all dope and honestly it will continue as long as their is money involved. People look for an edge in everything and that is life. As for me, I am going riding and enjoy a few miles of freedom like most of us do.
