Those of us who have watch cycling the past 20 years hae seen it become more and more specialzed with the science and lab training and wind tunnels. Radios another nusicance. I love racing but it has become robotic immensley. But fair play to Cancerlara, Vino, Boonen and Gillbert who rode old school in the classics this year. I think the GT's suffer the robotic ways mostly....

Yes, definately has changed the last 20-30 years. On radios... I wish the Tour would have several stages with no radios. Now THAT would be interesting to watch. But back on topic, even if cycling has changed the past 30 years we still see some guys in the group ride with the kind of machismo Cipo talked about. Of guys I think fit that, Vino=yes, Canc=yes, Gilbert=yes, Boonen~maybe more focus needed, Cav=yes. I'm sure there are others.

Samu no doubt

ANd i remember at the Pais Vasco tt when he saw he hadnt won he banged his hands on the handle bars. Im not surprised to see Breschel do this when he misses a rainbow jersey by a wheel, but this was a Pt race which samu wasnt going to win at this stage, but it didnt matter, its that mentality that winning is all that matters.

I think piti has this too, seeing as he goes for bunch sprints instead of saving himself for hills.

I'd agree with Samu and Piti. I'd like to throw Jens Voigt into the mix too:

Cipo seems too much of a pretty boy that keeps on checking himself in a reflection.

Dude had 191 wins, 42 Giro stages, 3 Giro points jerseys, 12 Tour stages, 3 Vuelta stages, a World Championships, a Milan-San Remo and 3 Gent–Wevelgems.

So he rode pretty well for a pretty boy.

I never said pretty boys don't make good racers. It's just when I think of a macho rider I don't think of a guy who checks himself out in the silverwear he wins.

If Cippo was still racing all his antics would please most of us. His anti-establishment(UCI) mentailty was great for cycling.
