I'm not sure why people were expecting Sagan to win here anyway. Old route, fine, but with this wall so close to the finish on the new route, just no. Not enough time to get back to the specialist climbers.

I have thought it would be cool to have Monte Igueldo in the race for some time, but I thought just as a finish, climbing the easier side. It'd be a puncheur finish but not so hard that it would make attacking elsewhere stupid.

I still think Erlaitz instead of Arkale on one of the circuits would have been the way to go though.

Not as bad as the Dutch ES, where the commentator said Tim Wellens is the big favorite for this race:eek:

Haha. Not even in Belgium is he the biggest favourite.
