Nice new final , Valverde and Mollema are another riders with hot weather. Valverde with a race like this and hot is almost unbeatable.
Very good Nieve, but he need long climbs.
Purito is ready to fight for La Vuelta, he has been close today to win.

Gutted for Adam Yates. Oh well, still confirms the obvious talent that is clearly there. Hope he recovers well.

Valverde really had to deliver here or else it's a major fail with the parcours and the team he had.

The race played out exactly as expected, which is to say it sucked except for the last 10 minutes and it couldn't do anything but suck except for the last 10 minutes. Go modern cycling!
This race has been turned into a Vuelta stage. And it played out like a Vuelta stage. With the usual suspects in a Vuelta stage.

Perfect for youtube. Last quarter of an hour was fun, and there were lots of fans and it produced a top level winner, so they'll consider it a success, forgetting that the rest of the race was absolutely rubbish and they rendered the race's signature climb of Jaizkibel about as relevant to the outcome of the Clásica San Sebastián as Tourmalet was to the 2009 Tour de France.

Was it just me or was the level of motopacing ridiculous? Look how close the motobike is to Valverde when he is riding away on the descent. The most hilarious was probably when Purito waved to the motobike in front of him to go away on a 10% slope :D

Is that a bad thing? It makes sense....the Spanish riders wanting to do well in their races. I think it's pretty nice. Vuelta stages are usually better than most from other GT's.
