After the finish of Stage 3 of the 2025 Itzulia Basque Country, Alex Aranburu — the first rider to cross the line — was initially disqualified for allegedly taking the wrong side of a roundabout in the final phase of the race. However, after reviewing the footage, it was noted that the route taken by the Cofidis rider did in fact match the course map in the official race guide, and that there was incorrect signage. As a result, Aranburu’s victory was reinstated
