Shleck brothers should mix it up if they're not just there for the sun and tapas.

Is EuroSport taking coverage? Please.

Valverde should win the finish line.

No tapas in San Sebastian buddy. Check yourself!

And weather can be iffy.

My favs: Valverde, Chevanel, Pellizotti.

Thanks for the information. Keep me posted on anymore updates.

They have a special name for tapas in San Sebastian (aka Donostia). They are called "Pintxos" (or "pinchos" in spanish spelling). That's how they refer to them :)

If you ever have a chance, I highly recommend a trip to that city. One of the most beautiful ones in Europe.

Cheers. Was meant to be there last month but trip was pulled due to budget cutbacks. Plan to get there this year. No direct from Heathrow so will have to go via Madrid. Which is not so bad. Thanks again.

Women?

No need to do Madrid, you can do Heathrow/Bilbao, I've done it several times. Bilbao is about 1 hour away from San Sebastian by freeway (A8). Airport code BIO.

You could also fly to the French Basque Country. Biarritz. Airport cod BIQ. It is about 40 min by car from San Sebastian.

You flying from the UK or arriving to the UK from the US?

Women are tough over there. Just a warning. Very prude :).

Great thank you. From London not from US. Stop! Got it on the women. Promise not to speak with them. Just look.

I flew from Stansted last time, but as you know better than me, that's like over an hour north of London. Heathrow has flights too though.

on cyclingnews they said evans was riding san sebastian when i know that's wrong as he said his next race would be La Vuelta.

at the moment, he is listed by the race organizers and his teams website as starting,

http://clasica-san-sebastian.diariovasco.com/2009/participantes/index.html
but you will certainly see changes to the startlist in the next few days. Sites that will bring you regular updates are

From the horse mouth: "My next race wil be the Vuelta. I am going to have 10 days off cycling and then plan for next year".
All those websites can say he's riding but if Cadel says he's not riding it then we'll have to trust him. Lotto said he would be riding the giro and he didn't. Can you really trust them?

Well Cadel even said himself he wasn't riding. Look at an interview on the sbs tdf on the champs eleysees. Who can trust lotto anyway especially after the 'cadel riding the giro' saga. Valverde will kick everyone's *** at San Sebastian as he is the best sprinter in the world who can climb very high in gc.

Certainly! Splendid beach, too (La Concha). Nice villas, buildings, very green city and surroundings. The Jaizkibel is fantastic.

I think this website is offering live streaming

In saying that though, I can't read Dutch, so I will let Bala correct me. Why did I miss the day they taught Dutch at school?

The website you are refering to is basically a 'tv guide' of programs they air. That means the NOS - dutch broadcaster - shows CSS, on saturday, on TV, in the Netherlands between 15.45-17.30 on channel 2.

Nonetheless, that could entail that they'd also have a live stream. But then again, it could be blocked for many of us due to geo-restrictions that might apply (usually the case for international/high profile races)

Does anyone think Cunego may have a shot at this? Or am I crazy?

You're crazy.

I dunno, seems like Cunego sleeps for most of the season and then wakes up for Lombardia.

I think the winner will be somebody who raced the Tour, one of the Liquigas boys or maybe a Schleck.

Bring this post up the list. Yes.

Has anybody on here ridden in the Basque Country and around San Sebastian? What are the roads like and weather conditions (Pays Basque is usually raced in pouring rain, but that is raced in April), and is it like Flanders where you get some nasty cross winds?

I know, but wierldly his team ****hole Lotto has named him on their site. He said he is not riding San Sebastian as he is riding the vuelta. He is actually on holiday with his wife.
