OMFG this is absolutely awesome.

The Belgians have in one move become my favourite faction on this forum. Dutch what? When have they ever done anything like this for us. Belgium rocks.

Thanks a lot for the write up pisti. Appreciate it. And for mentioning the interview in the first place that led to the write up and to the video link. Many thanks to BS for the link.

A shame Phil speaks in that language, but some day ill know what he said.

Ps did anyone hear something about Voeckler and the Badger going on Frances biggest talkshow. Anyone saw it?
I was surprised by how little English Samuel Sanchez knew. I guess he doesn't talk much to the non-spanish guys in the peloton :p

Why should he know English? If anything, he should know Basque :p

Note: If you watched the interview, you can see he understands, he's just to shy to speak it.

No, he's wearing an ear plug and everything gets translated to him in Spanish. It's why he always responds so late.

Great interview! When Thor is talking about wanting a Norwegian cycling team, it sounds like he actually has some sort of plan and it's not just a dream. He seems very smart and I think he's got big plans for after his riding career:)

I wonder if that interview happened after Sanchez's win @ Roeselare criterium:

"Samuel Sanchez (Euskaltel-Euskadi) evened the score in the Belgian post-Tour exhibition criterium races, with victory in the Natourcriteiumvan Roeselare. The polka-dot jersey winner, still wearing the jersey, escaped the rest of the stars in the race escaped Belgian champion Philippe Gilbert (Omega Pharma-Lotto), the winner of the previous night’s race in Aalst, and World champion Thor Hushovd (Garmin-Cervélo) on the final lap to win by three seconds."

Cool interview. Would be great if Britain had that sort of culture to have cyclists on chat shows.

Fantastic interview, all three guys seemed really nice! Felt sorry for Samu having to wait for the translation. All three of them looked like they would be great fun to have a beer with at the pub.

I won't be able to watch san sebastian on the night, so please make your post on the thread really good so when I read them it'll be almost like I watched it:D

I'll be hoping for good things out of Thomas de Gendt, Samu and Gilbert.

According to this Uran is in the Sky startlist. There thay also say he "got a lung infection" and "started antibiotics on the second rest day" which took its toll in his contention for a white jersey. Imo Rigoberto had enough time to recover and should be OK for San Sebastian. Anyway he's the only Sky rider (among those in their startlist) who can really be competitive in this race.

Simon Gerrans occasionally does well in this kind of race too but he was quite unimpressive at the TDF.

Hmmm, I don't know what would surprise me more: Richie Porte on the podium or Andy Schleck doesn't abandon the race? ;)
