That picture, and the one of LeMond and Hinalut on L'Alpe are 2 of my favorite cycling pix ever.

That is probably my favorite all time finish. Fignon gaps everyone behind on the climb. Suddenly Lemond blows past and catches the 3 leaders. They all summon the strength to stay with him over the top. Fignon comes back from the dead to make contact starting down the wet and treacherous descent. Almost everyone of the lead 5 tries at least one attack on the way down, all are caught and the pace never seems to slow, and yet somehow Kelly, who was nowhere in sight over the top catches them at the bottom of the downhill. Still it comes down to a group sprint, and Lemond takes it. You could not write it any better than that!

That's one disturbing photo...

Question - can anyone tell me what settings need to be enabled in order to post photos? I checked the FAQs and followed the instructions, but can't quite get there. I obviously need to change something in my account before the right command will be available to add an attachment.

thanks...

I upload my photos to flickr. Then right click on photo and left click on copy image location and paste that into the box that pops up when you click on insert image. I don't think you can upload directly to post.

Go to http://www.tinypic.com
Upload the photo, and it gives you the code to copy and paste. You can post from your computer, or if you want to post a photo from another site, right click the photo, select properties, then copy and paste url between the code

Classic shot of Cote St Roche in L-B-L

This one shows up every year in the race galleries for LBL but I never get tired of it - I know the climb comes too early to be really significant but I love the way you can see the whole peloton and get an idea of the gradient.

Everybody seemed so happy that day.

hinault-_and_lemond.jpg

These two need to bury the hatchet and move on. Separately they agree on so much about cycling. Everyone in the world knows Hinault went for it in 1986, and everyone in the world knows because he did it made Greg earn the win and a better champion, and made La Vie Clair 1, 2, and 4, with three of the jerseys. These two just need to admit that, be proud that was one of the best races in history, and be done with it.
