Those clowns running besides cyclists, swerving due to exertion/booze/ whatever floats their boat... it's a disgrace. There have been many instances where there couldn't be any demarages due to the public. Also riders get hindered or even fall due to these idiots.
The public should just be the public: give the rider berth and stay put. If you want to make a statement, carry a banner, that will be good enough.
