Wasn't sure about posting these, 'cause I think everyone's seen them already. If so, let me know and I'll replace with something else.

Eddy Merckx. Here winning Milan - San Remo, I think for the first (or possibly second) time

Autograph signed and off to the races. Looks a little Like Al Pacino here, don't you think?

Looks like his sixth win in 1975, with Moser second.

I thought he looked way younger than that here, but I'll take your word for it. Thanks. :) You wouldn't believe what I had to go through in Photoshop to get this so big and so clear. :)

A classic photo.

Merckx's rainbow jersey and Moser in the background were the give aways. I read somewhere that the statistics are that when Merckx was in the leading group on the final climb of Milan San Remo he won it every time.

I can imagine. He must have been something else. I really wish I'd been able to watch Merckx race. But then I'd be older and I'm already old enough. :D

My recollections of Merckx are very hazy memories of seeing in a couple of 15 minutes round-ups of some of the classics on the UK's World of Sport in 1977. By 15 minutes I mean they would cover more than one classic in the time slot. And seeing him on TV in the Glenryck Cup race at Eastway in 1977. So unfortunately I have no memories of seeing him at his best.
