Holm made a bit of a mix-up during yesterday's T-A, talking about how Groupama-FDJ has "The sprinter Pinot, and Demare for the GC." Which, is something I'd really to see.
Interesting concept, actually; you take two riders - on the same team - and then they have to swap roles.

Stages 1, 4 and 5 of Tirreno will be live only on the player.

The coverage of cycling on the standard channels is worsening every year.

Every stage live in the UK - obviously the skiing a bigger draw in Italy though at the weekend?

But maybe I'm misreading your link ES1 on Wednesday has nothing scheduled between 1300 and 1600.
Probably because would have clashed in the last half hour they preferred to go with three hours of replays

Anyway i'm convinced more than ever that they want to force users that follow cycling to subscribe for the player, it's almost an year that they are moving races to the player or cutting the coverage on their channels and lately they run an advertising "for cycling fans" to follow the cycling season on the player.
I won't be surprised if in july they are going to put the full coverage of Tour stages on the player with a later start on Eurosport 1 like last year with the Vuelta that had an hour less on Eurosport 1.

Right, I might be overly sensitive, and luckily he wasn't seriously hurt - beyond having to abbandon - but it honestly didn't sit right with me that after the initial brief sight of Boswell on the ground, the first think Bay and Holm worried about was… whether it was Würtz Schmidt. What the *** does that matter?

A classic Kirbyism, though I'll freely admit, that I sometimes, especially in off-season, miss hearing his voice. But that might be more about associating it with cycling, because he does tend to say a lot of bull. Once or twice, it can be rather fun, but it can get rather tiresome.

Completely agree on the load of bull comment, I only have to hear his voice and I switch immediately to another feed if available or turn the commentary off. Fortunately I am able to watch Cataluyna on Spanish TV which has the added advantage of no add breaks.

Sounds like we all need Spanish television.

Why are we surprised that Tao deleted the tweet - It's embarrassing when you make such silly tweets.

I don't see what they should be embarrassed. What was said was absolutely spot on.

I expect the teams PR department are starting to come down on any public airing of the riders thoughts before the new sponsors come on board. They want to make sure that they tow the party line.

I hope Kirby saw the tweet or has been told about it. His ego could do with a knock or two. It will be interesting to see what his reaction to the riders concerned is in the future

Of course the team should come down hard on such tweets - The strangest thing is, I watched the stage and can't remember that statement by Kirby that was referenced by Tao - Maybe i zoned out at the time.

Somehow, some way, the general public will eventually come to understand the absolute brilliance of Carlton Kirby. This is not meant as a joke. The guy is the real deal, and it is a friggin shame he takes a schit-kicking here. Not only does he possess more cycling knowledge than the resident mensa members seem to think, he has a suitcase (RIP Paul) full of metaphors to unlock at any given time.
He knows how to light up a race when it matters, and spice up a story when the audience is napping.
He is a legend.
Respect the man.
Respect the legend.
Respect Carlton Kirby.

Zoning out is probably why you don't think that he is that bad!
