I have to say that yesterday's efforts were embarrasing. The breaks I know are not decided by Eurosport (I think) - more those bloody featurettes... the one about the wind should have been stuck in before the exposed sea sections in particular and came at a tremendously ironic time as the wind was blowing the race wide open, and instead there was a feature on how the wind could affect the race.

Total failure.

Is ITV any better - could switch the "series" record over...

The French accent of the interviewers is difficult to understand. Can't they hire a couple of Scotsmen? The commentator is Kirby, isn't he? Sounds ever more like Harmon, and doesn't talk crap anymore. Excellent.

ITV dont show the feature videos, but the ad's and Phil/Paul are a pain, I usually have 3 channels to switch between

Unless you can tolerate gushing nonsense about any of the designated commentator favourites, almost all the commentary is insufferable. Kirby just talks…mostly guesswork / nonsense. But Phil L. is the worst. Peter 'the best bike handler in the peloton' Sagan is about the only person I still like after tolerating years of listening to Liggett's worship. Being the focus of Liggett's infatuation is the kiss of death for my liking a rider. I'm so glad Cav. was eclipsed in his heart by the arrival of Team Sky, because otherwise I'd utterly detest him by now, but I've certainly gone off him over the years because of it. I used to like G. but I've heard his name so often already this year that I'm starting to baulk. I'm just hoping he's not realised Dowsett exists, because he remains one of the few UK riders I can still tolerate hearing the name of.

Kirby's worst nightmare today with both Teklehaimanot and Kudus in the break. He went for the tactic of calling whichever one was attacking Teklehaimanot which didn't work out too well. (it's not that difficult, one is tall and rides quite upright the other is the opposite)

I've had to watch ITV coverage even though I have a Eurosport subscription. Kirby is positively cringeworthy. Liggett and Sherwan are miles more tolerable. Liggett is actually quite funny (mostly unintentionally).

I watch the Belgians when I'm home because I'm not cray about Herbert and Maaaarten on Dutch tv while Kirby is just impossible to bear, and you know what Sean is going to say before he opens his mouth. Phil and Paul are just awful too, but I really enjoy listening to 'Thejensie'!
