I have Virgin Media in the UK, BBC Red Button is transmitted on Channel 994, so I can record that. I would have thought Sky has something similar?

They don't unfortunately. There are Sky-carried channels that aren't on the EPG. You have to find them by typing in their frequency then saving it, such as the HD and regional versions of ITV, especially in Scotland where none of the ITV HD versions are carried on the EPG.

Just to clarify the BBC's TV coverage, Mens ITT live on BBC2 from 1340-1610 on Wednesday, Women's RR live on Saturday split across both main channels from 1500-1715 and on Sunday, Mens RR 1415-1615 on BBC2.

At least for those of us in UK there is additional online & red button coverage.

Veloveritas have a new interview with Dave Harmon:

http://www.veloveritas.co.uk/2014/01/16/david-harmon-interview/

Good read, mainly about the Rotterdam Six (which he says he got because Kirby couldn't do it and recommended him), but there is this line:

And will we be hearing you back on Eurosport, soon?

"I’ve been enjoying a wee bit of time off and I’m looking forward to working at the Tour of Qatar, if Eurosport speak to me then that’ll be nice.

If Eurosport haven't been in touch yet, I'd wonder if they will be at all? Once bitten twice shy perhaps.

Shame if that's the case. As No Harmon can only mean...!

The organizers responded to my message telling the parcours will be unveiled soon. I asked if they could confirm the Fóia/Monchique/MTF rumour but got nothing (as expected).

The Malhão is almost certain. The time-trial will be on stage 3 (nice).

I want Kwia to take this, but I'm afraid that if there isn't a proper and harder route in comparison to last years, Tony Martin will win again.

The TV images last year were bad because it were the organisers themselves that recorded the race with lame equipment.

Yes, I thought the commentary of the Rotterdam Six was
brilliant. The infectious enthusiasm of Mr. Harmon paired
well with the dry wit of Anthony Doyle MBE and his knowledge
of cycling that was gained not from Wikipedia and Twitter
but from years as a successful professional winning World
Titles and more than twenty Six-Days.
Hopefully we will be able to enjoy Mr. Harmon and Mr. Doyle
commentating a London or Manchester Six on Eurosport in
the not too distant future.

I will be honest, Harmon used to get his fair share of criticism here, but compared to Kirby he is a million times better.

More than that. I thought about starting a thread about dumb things Kirby said but got too lazy. It probably would have been the longest thread ever.

Candidates include
saying it was Richezze when Scarponi attacked on Naranco (a ****ing climb),
saying Samuel Dumoilin was attacking when Betancur attacked on a mountain,
saying (throughout August and September) that "silly" accusations against Froome stopped after the Lalpe d huez stage because the French finally won a stage and let their jealousy go😎
Saying Brailsford "proved 100%" (yes he used those words) Froome was clean by showing that French guy the data, and that it made doubters look silly.

Thats just from this season. Go back a year or 2 and you have him asking Backsted if Joaquim Rodriguez won the Tour of Flanders.
Its absolutely unfathomable how ES can keep this guy. As their oficial cyclinmg commentator for the Tour de France. There has never ever been anyone less qualified to do their job in the history of mankind. A 2 year old would look more in place as the President of a Bank than Kirby does in a cycling commentator.

The sad thing is he was doing it with Doyle who is the absolute scum of the earth.

Those who knew the guy say he a massive doper and a bully in the peloton.
http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=18285

An account confirmed by his appearance on BBC radio after lances titles were stripped (to Doyle, lance was clean, a victim of a conspiracy by jealous talentless folk, and anyone who says otherwise is fair game for verbal abuse)

I'm really upset with eurosport for hiring people like that.

Hitch, Rotterdam Six was online only, with comms by Harmon & Doyle. Kirby got DH the gig when he was unable to do it.

Harmon's days at Eurosport may have passed, if he's being honest saying they haven't been in touch about work for 2014.
