Commentator (Rob Hatch?): And here comes Cofidis. Riding for, we think, Elia Viviani.

Who else would they be riding for? Nicolas Edet?

Perhaps a first but this week's coverage of the Vuelta and the Giro will be merged together (on the TV guide anyway) - no idea how this will happen? Different rollout times? Jumping from one to another?
Edit: see they're doing same for Giro / Flanders today.

Guess the two channels are only good when he have a big race conflicting with a small race.

Seems the greedy Discovery don't want to have the audience splitting between the two races. That's the only explanation I see since during tuesday, for example, Eurosport 2 will show replays all afternoon.

You would think in 2020 they could split screen it with the viewer able to choose which feed they want audio from.

You can sort of do it yourself if you have a second device.

Quite like the mixed coverage on the main channel rather than having to wait until this evening for highlights and trying to desperately avoid the result.

Sean Kelly appears to be completely incapable of interrupting himself when something infinitely more relevant than what he's saying is on screen!

I find it incredibly irritating. He's just talked through possibly the most important move of the race.

The contrast between the fairly insightful commentary last week at GW and today is huge.

Was checking the English ESP commentary for a bit during RvV, and I thought, hey these guys aren't doing a bad job at all. Then Kirby and Kelly came back on.

Interesting... I always choose a channel on may laptop from a country I barely understand the language, if at all, and set it a bit quieter and have it just as background noise... No need for the usual commentators platitudes and obsession with their "chosen" favorites they can't shut up about...

Love Basque eitb channel... They barely speak unless it's the last 40-60k to finish :tearsofjoy: The Belgian Sporza is good too, I pick out some conversions but not enough to fully understand but I like the sound of the language;) If it's a Classics race, you gotta watch it on Sporza!!!

Are you telling me you didn't enjoy Kirby describing Kwiato as the man with the least aero ears in the peloton?
