I've noticed a few times over the last couple of weeks that Brian Smith's mike occasionally cuts out. Is he still doing it from home and not Discovery in London?
I believe so, yes. He even mentioned that he had gone to close the window of his home studio the other day as the heavy rain outside was audible! I think he might travel to the studio if his co-commentator is there but if they are also working remotely there isn't much to be gained. Apart from avoiding the occasional drop-out, of course.

I have noticed that when Kirby is paired with Walker that he goes over the top in trying to impress - I can understand him confusing Ryan with Boumann ( i thought it was Boumann ) because there were long shots up the final ramp until the last 50 metres.

Not commentary, but Eurosport UK TV seem to be back to their old trick of labelling races as being live when the take place the previous day.
Saw Danni Martinez win this morning and MvdP yesterday.

Karsten Migels spoke about the finish in Luxembourg today

"Maybe if you remember the 2002 Tour de France..."

I was laughing like "Yeah Karsten, 2002. I've got that images at pat immediately of course. Who doesn't? "

Then he mentioned how Rubens Bertogliati won and got the yellow jersey there.

I was like "***, I truly remember that actually!" :D

I think Karsten Migels only remembers things that happened a long time ago.

Could be wrong but I don't remember GP d'Isbergues ever being aired live. It gets the standard Coupe de France 25 min highlight treatment on ES France. Last year there was also a very shaky livestream broadcast of the last 20 or 30 km.

Gooiks Pijl has been on Sporza in the past. This year livestream on Proximus, not sure about geo-restrictions.

He seems to fully live in the past sometimes.

As do I. So if I realize that, Migels recalling the past rather than comment on the race he watches must've become quite extreme in the last 2-3 years.
Today, Karsten Migels said that Küng could post up and celebrate while he only had 15 seconds for the last 300 meters and was losing.

Found it quite funny hearing Tom Southam being the one saying about how national team managers get riders together from other trade teams to work as one team for their nation, and how it gets even more complicated than that!

Looks like no Giro dell'emilia on Eurosport this Saturday, which is a shame as it's the first of the fall races where the big names are competing.

Does anyone know if it's likely to be covered by a broadcaster and so possibly available on Tiz etc?

RaiSport is listed as a sponsor on the race website.
Can't wait for Sunday to hear Kirby when Mohammad GANJKHANLOU, Bilguunjargal ERDENEBAT and Peerapol CHAWCHIANGKWANG all go in the break.
will be worse if it's Hatch. After research he'll be giving us Haanikanal, Ridenba, and Qwaqwanjakwang.
Hatch can annoy me but I'll give him credit on the Thai names. He didn't try to sound "Thai" and said the names close enough for me to understand who he was talking about. +16 points. Still in the red, tho.

There is a 90 minute programme on Rai Sport from 15.10 CET. It can be accessed free via Raiplay but if you are outside Italy you will most likely need a VPN. I'm surprised GCN+ haven't picked this up; the climb past the arches up to the sanctuary is one of my favourite images in road racing

The erratic coverage of the Italian Fall races continues, as they're not showing Tre Valli tomorrow. Presumably RAI are, so it should be available somewhere?

it's on Rai 2 (only), same as every year, yeah.

edit: not "only", actually. This year there is also (longer) coverage on RaiSport

Huh? Tre Valli Varesine used to be shown on Eurosport back in 2015 already in contrary to many other Italian fall classics.

Just what I was thinking. I'm pretty sure I remember watching it. Wasn't there an edition a few years ago when a group was led astray in the last few Ks? Could have been the "Trittico Lombardo" 2020 edition.

Yes, I've watched it a couple of times in the last few years and that could only have been on Eurosport. Maybe not since Covid though as my work schedule changed.
