Anyone else notice his scooting back every couple of seconds on his TT bike?
Seems like he rides on a solid carbon seat that has no grip.
He slides forward on his seat and then pops back every couple seconds, he never used to do this on previous TT set ups?
I think he is going to suck in longer TT's from losing power because he is constantly pushing himself back on his seat.

This is quite common from what I've seen in TTs.

I'm yet to see the stage, and I've only read the opening post of this topic, so apologies if I'm horribly wide of the mark

But I'm going to assume the predictable thing happened. A guy who has always been amazingly good in short time trials and has the best acceleration out of corners of almost any pro, wins a short, extremely technical and twisty prologue, while testing a new bike that's made precisely to accelerate well out of corners, then doesn't do nearly as well in a very long TT where he's always been much worse.

it's really funny armstrong comes 5th in a diluted field, it's touted as a super show, berto comes 6th in a strong company of specialists - it's a failure..

I think Armstrong's performance was rated "solid" for a rider who has been off form all season and is past his best. No one said it was a super showing.

AC, however, is the best rider in the world. When he loses 2 minutes in a TT people take notice.

Maybe the new Specialized TT bike is the motorless version.

Seriously? Riders use other races as training for their primary races all the time. The Dauphiné or TdS are routinely used by pretty much every contender as training for the Tour just as the Vuelta is used as training for the WC. Out of curiosity, how do you feel about riders who use the Giro as training for the Tour?

AC is doing what is best for his performance & polishing details ahead to July 3rd. he won the prologue-remember?-so the fitness is there-and when he said today he couldn't find his rhythm-it means he has good legs, but didn't force himself to do an unnecessary effort...
for someone who has openly claimed to do the race as a tune-up, & gets to win the prologue & finish 4th in a long ITT..........he's just fine

now tomorrow is another matter going uphill....

Of course it is. He lost time to Brackjovic who in comparison to some of the others who he will be against will be better than him. His peformances on flat long tt's have proved that he will lose a lot of time in the bordeaux time trial.
