Just wanted to make the serious point that Contador is king and Mr collision theory limbs fans realise this.
Go somewhere else with you're trolling. He lost ok, got crushed when he should never even have lost the GC. That is a fact you only have too see the posts after the MTF stage. I was like well damn he is way too strong, Froome has no chance then he shocked you included i bet. No one thought he could win the GC and he did, rid you're boy off his wheel it looked like 2013 all over again. He is king of 2014 that isit. Contador fans will be like Liverpool fans soon they will be clutching at the past. Oops you can not even do that as the recent past he lost, the laughs are on you buddy:rolleyes::).

Tank, I agree on the point that Bertie is the king (8 GTs on the road, enough said).
He might not be the best/strongest, but he's definitely the king.

AC won one mountain stage, CF won another mountain stage. I don't see how that is "2013 all over again." If you look at it objectively, in the mountains, they are 1-1. Also CF won the overall by 2 seconds, that's not getting "crushed." If you think ray j willings post is ridiculous you don't have to respond with an exaggerated post of your own. IMO neither AC fans nor CF fans will have to talk about the past this year. I think both riders will have pretty good seasons...each will probably finish the year with a GT win...I sure won't be dreaming about the past.

Winning by 2 seconds isn't the massive whoopin' you're claiming here.

King of 2014. Lol. I can see how you have no respect for his career when compared to Froome's. Oh wait.... I so love fanboys. :D

Hey Mr Tank, let me hit you with some truth / word bomz me schnizzzzle.

King Bertie "DEFEATED" your egg bound faced "froome" insect man in the ITT .

King Bertie then "Destroyed ET "froome" in the Ruta del Sol stage and could "EASILY " won by a bigger margin. It was so Easy:D

Your Mr insect man won 1 stage against a tired Bertie.

Score king Bertie 2 vs et 1

Eat those facts on a big plate of loser......:D

If there is one thing above all others that narks me when people refer to Contador and Froome in the same breath it the apparent inability to acknowledge that, despite only a couple of years age difference, one has almost more GTs than the rest of the active peloton put together and the other has ….. one.

By any objective assessment, Contador has to be considered the superior rider, even if it might be argued he is coming off his peak / golden years.

No amount of badzilla, bad luck / accidents or 'he should have won in 2012' on behalf of Froome can get away from the huge gulf between them in terms of actual wins on the road.

Froome has a lot to do in the years that follow to be in any objective way comparable.

Very well said as usual. Similarly I found it worrying that the announcers on beinSports network stated that Froome was "one the greatest stage racers of all time"! I can respect someone expressing their opinion but...c'mon now! It shows a blatant disrespect for those riders that actually deserve such recognition and it just shows how ignorant the announcer making the statement truly is. Give the guy (Froome) the chance to ride his way into such lofty status because he is not there at this point. It's also insulting to the listeners to hear such hyperbole.

Yeah in terms of palmares it's a no contest. The much more interesting question is who the best GT rider is right now, or has been in the last few years. Froome has strongest case for that title.

Also, Froome is the strongest opponent Contador has faced. A better climber than ultrapeak Schleck and an infinitely better time trialler. Froome at his peak is basically the old Armstrong. That's why a victor over peak Froome would do so much for Contador's standing as a GT great, and why Froome, despite not having won much, is talked about as a great stage race.

Did you use the scientific method to work that out:

Massive use of wishful thinking and a great use of your imagination.

Froome could not lick the crumbs of Armstrongs musette.

Oh he's miles away from Armstrong, who is an all-time great, no matter what! Froome is only one of the current best stage racers. Contador is in another dimension compared to him, heck even Nibali is firmly ahead of him

We shouldn't be talking about palmares in this thread as it deeply contradicts the thread title ;)
We should be talking about flat prologue performances and expectations for the weekend. And all the blame for not doing that can be adressed to Team SKY  :D

The scientific method is the one constant of my incredibly varied posting.

To the others, again, I'm talking about w, w/kg and full *** 30s attacks, not palmares.

Leaving your obvious trolling aside (be careful there by the way), the only rider who has gone head to head with Contador at his strongest on a climb where he hasn't been able to drop him is Andy Schleck.

Peak Froome is no doubt a better climber than peak Andy. Hopefully we're going to see the duel we've been waiting for this July.

Not sure. They're different type of climbers, too.
I could imagine Andy dropping Froome on a long, high mountain stage with 5000+ meters of altitude gain.

Aye believe that if you want. If you have been watching cycling for over 5 years. No fear = Froome. He's been owned whenever it's mattered. Big respect = Schleck.

In 2013 Froome owned Contador. Froome is a much tougher rival than Schleck because besides climbing as well as Contador, he is also an equal or better TTer.
