I wouldn't write Contador off just yet.

If anything I thought Evans was on the wane coming off last year and leading into the Giro and even though he might still blow up, from what we have seen so far he is easily in his best form since 2009. I will hold my hands up and say I didn't see it coming. This could easily prove the case with Contador

I can understand the pessimism based on recent form but I think it's maybe a tad premature just yet to dismiss his hopes and so I going to reserve judgment until after the Dauphine. It's also good to see Rogers improving his form in Cali and Kreuziger has his win in AGR behind him. But the like of Roche and Hernandez need to step up and especially Roche who's form was way off in P-N and Pais Vasco.

I don't get how Saxobank can help him, even if Rogers, Niki and Kreuziger will be at their best, they'll anyway turn out to be weaker than Porte, Wiggins and Kiri as a team.

Try Roche, Paulinho, Kreuziger. If Porte once again is peaking top form, we can take the rest to the clinic.

You mean you HOPE Saxo cant help him.

If Porte hits his second super peak it can be anything, including top-3.

Absolutely not. I intentionally speak without talking who concretely will win. But we all understand that team can help Contador only if he will be equal to Froome in the mountains. No team can salvage a rider who is even a bit worse than his rivals.

Rogers + Kreuziger in lifetime best form should easily be equal to Porte and Kiriyenka. It's just that riders tend to overperform on Sky

I wonder who big Pat is rooting for btw ;)

why have a question mark at the end of that statement.

It implies there will be a question, worded differently along the lines of - will contador win the tdf?

Even a 2 parter - followed by - if not, why not?

Not straight to the assumption that he will lose.. And then the reasons/excuses further assumed.

I suposse you should be happy you didnt say it would be because he had a cold!

It certainly wont be because there is a schleck in the bunch... :(

:d

Vuelta 2012 was a tired Froome against a prepared Contador. Cant read too much from that. In the tour they will both be ready. I hope Contador somehow has found 2009 form again.

fhe point I was trying to make is that Froome also needs to be 100% if ne is to win - otherwise it'll be the Vuelta again ie behind Contador Rodriguez and Valverde.

If that? I thought past performances were irrelevant to make these types of determinations...

No team has such a coherence, discipline, squad of well-tried helpers and belief in their leader like Sky for last 2 seasons, doesnt' it?

its so funny you choose to use the word well-tried, though everybody on this forum knows if we were talking about AC and his team you would have used the phrase well-prepared.... hilarious.

Absolutely, I agree. I meant to edit my post to say that I misunderstood what you said (but I was too lazy to do so). 90% Froome won't win the Tour either.

Hm, sadly I don't grab hilarity in this. Alright let's assume Saxobank will be stronger. Do you think it can change the general situation in the climbs drastically?

Alberto beats the snot out of Froome last time. The contention here that AC (who came back from a ban) was fresh falls away against this lack of racing rythm. Also, look at Talent. Froome never managed to win a GT, wore a jersey one day before he was destroyed.

Oh and Schleck has such a long track record of being destroyed by Alberto that this isn't even a contention anymore.

Thanks. No hint on objectivity, however you managed to underline explicitly your hot preferences in this duo. ;)
