Too bad it's RCS Sport that runs the Giro, not Cookson.

Of course, someone who actually followed cycling would know such trivial things.

hey smarties tell me more about how Sky is protected by UCI

If you wish to engage in useful dialogue then maybe try a different approach.

Just a friendly advice...

All you post merits as a response is this:

Maybe that will satisfy you as well...

I never thought I would say this, but a strange thing happened in my brain today. It happened in the part of the brain associated with feelings, sense, memory, a completely non-verbal area. It was the mental and emotional equivalent of a kick in the gut. I am not a competent enough writer to describe it in full detail, so I will have to bottom-line it for you:

I miss Pat McQuaid.

There it is. After giving Cookson some time before making a judgment I guess I realized cycling isn't as entertaining. To put it bluntly, at least if cycling fans were going to get FΥčקΣΔ by UCI, at least McQuaid reached around with a little entertainment. The cheating aided and abetted by Cookson/UCI is just so, for lack of a better word--clinical. It is a good thing I still enjoy riding my own bike because this year's UCI racing which I usually enjoy continues to be completely and utter wasted on me. I just feel bad now for the guys who get physically injured doing whatever it is they're doing out there.

Auch Cookson...

What on earth is going on...

If there was enough on Kreuziger to ban him surely they would have proceeded?

Riis gone so they are happy as it is?
Just a delay on the decision not to make it too obvious...?

Could the "new" information be spilled beans to get rid of Riis via the backdoor...

Letting Tinkoff do the dirty work, and give him some peace plus no Kreuziger ban?

He is taking home some serious beating these days...

http://www.uci.ch/pressreleases/uci-and-wada-terminate-cas-case-concerning-roman-kreuziger/

Consistent with the approach taken during this entire case and in light of the confidential nature of the information concerned, the UCI and WADA are not in a position to comment further.

Erhmm... What about this from last year then?

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/cookson-passport-cases-can-now-be-treated-as-positive-tests

"There are very serious anomalies," Cookson told Cyclingnews when asked about Kreuziger's passport readings.
....
......
"The UCI and CADF experts have a very strong indication of manipulation. He has been invited to submit explanations. They've been submitted and they're not found to be convincing.....
...
.....
"Well we are trying to be clear that the biological passport is a very useful tool. We do believe that it has resulted in much less doping abuse and problems in our sport. We are very confident in the way that it will stand up to any challenge in court.
....
.....

And the best

"In this instance that's what we've decided and we're going to look at all future cases to see if they should be pursued in the same way. It's not a definite once and for all though."

Good idea ;)

Verbruggen cosied up to USPS/Armstrong/Bruyneel/Weisel

McQuaid cosied up to Brailsford/Sky

Cookson cosys up to Katusha/Makarov/Tinkoff/Oleg

Where is the detachment expected to ensure fairplay and fair enforcement of the sport.

UCI are a joke. In an atmosphere such as this why would anyone expect a 'clean' sport.

I'll repeat my oberservation from the other day..

Where is Cookson?

Can he only show his face to throw tantrums, and then dissappear when the going gets tough....?

And when is election time again?

Will he survive?

EDIT: Maybe Cookson is drinking in the last chance saloon? Time is running out?

we did ask is cookson worse than fat pat........remember fat pat only launched to passport to ensure continued olympic participation

but now the important ? is how can cookson / UCI find the teeth to deliver promises............?

I would think first step would be to admit they have problems...

Stop pretending things are under control, talking harsh with no action and say it as it is...

Only comment to find from him the last 24hours is appraisal of the hour record BS..

How he gets away with it is beyond me

Because right now the worlds sporting media are focussed on FIFA. Now is a good time for UCI to air any dirty laundry. Letting Kreuziger off at this time of FIFA's implosion is pure coincidence... ;)

Cookson was never going to turn the culture of doping around and make the sport a majority of clean participants. He is just applying better management techniques and bought a better brush and a bigger carpet.

I bet Cookson wished the FIFA thing happened earlier so he could've given Astana their license while the world laughed at Blatter.

ahh fook it, bring back Verdruggen. At least there was significant drive behind the corrupt business.
Now its just a rudderless ship captained by a British clown.

Re:

Wonderboy has a point:

Armstrong stated that, despite Cookson's public statements regarding the sport, the president has been underwhelming in his attempts to effect change.
“You guys can decide if he has done a good job, if he's been tough on Astana, whether he's stuck with his mission statement. Plenty of people would argue he's laid down on a lot of things. Whether it's expedited TUEs [Therapeutic Use Exemptions], or Astana, Cookson is not very good at taking people down," he said according to the Irish Times.

Lee nailed it and absolutely zero will ever happen about the anomalies in Wigan's ride, lack of biological passport, illegal equipment, etc..... The hands have been shaken, pictures in the papers, accolades accepted, legacy complete for Sir Brad and all those clamouring to get their photo with him, the picture of British pluck, athleticism and courage, which is a joke in itself. Those decrying Sir Brad will now be passed off as sour grapes, trolls or unable to grasp the amazing performance of this gifted athlete ..... Feck

Man Oh Man... I've been crying soo hard about poor Lance having to give up all the things he cheated so hard for so long to acquire. The jet, the house in Austin, the $$millions$$, it just goes on and on. Is there no justice, he cheated fair and square to get that stuff.

But Lance should do himself a favor and take the Dirty Harry DVDs back to the library. The head of the UCI is not a sociopath like himself and his job is not to "take people down". That is how Lance sees the world, that is what Lance used to do. That is what he's trying to do now in these lame interviews.
