Nerd stuff incoming but I think 'Vauquelin' is super cool, like it's soooo northern Gallo-Romance with the /v/ instead of /g/ for original /w/ and the /k/ instead of /ʃ/ (there's variants like Gauquelin and Gauchelin out there, and historically there are forms like Wauquelin, Walchelin, etc), plus the /l/ drop which partially obscures the etymology while making it look distinctly French (/walk/ > /vauk/~/gauk/~/gauʃ/), and it basically means "Little Welsh Guy" (as in the etymological meaning of 'Welsh': "Romance/Celtic speaker, from the point of view of a Germanic speaker"). 10/10 last name
