Can I ask why there is already is 2011 points and that the gain/loss is already filled for each of the riders? (probably a stupid question.)

Because it's game over :D PS: these points are form 2009 CQ:

Note: In the spreadsheet uploaded I have inserted the 2009 points in the 2011 points row. This was just to test if it works, but I thought I might as well keep it there - that way you can all see how it works

Sure hugo will let you join lucky.

I went with a lot if guys whom I suspect will have a breakout season. And a few rebound guys. Gesink and Anton are two who scored nicely (especially gesink) but I think both will get better.

I agree that someone like Sagan will have a tough time bettering his last score

That has been changed again so anyone can join now.

It's stated in the opening post also :)

Ya, those are two very diffrent strategies and by looking where I end up in that spectrum I think it is quite clear which tactic I think is more likely to succeed.
There is the 3rd strategy. trying to pick people who were injured a lot in 2010, Arvesen, Boasson Hagen, and to an extent cavendish.

I don't see that as a separate strategy, I see that has having an off year.

yeah. but there is a 3rd strategy surely..

a)rebound
b)good rider continues form and improves
c) riders having their breakthrough season... after all there are so many with the potential.

There's also a fourth strategy: try to get as many of your favourite riders as possible and screw everything else.

Ya, though it's hard to have the third as a strategy. It's almost equivalent of guessing blindly. I guess the one that comes closest to that strategy is TeamSkyFans with all the unknown riders he picked.

That's how I started but then I decided not to pick Van den Broeck, as I don't see him scoring much, and it went downhill from there. The last nail in the coffin was choosing Cobo and Pellizotti.

So this means I'm somewhere between two different strategies and I'm not likely to achieve ******-all.

edit: oh come on, that word which is derived from bug is censored!?

Actually including all the riders you hate is a better strategy.

Because when Samu wins ill be like "**** some Cq game".

But when Menchov wins, my disapointed will be softened by the fact that his victory is bringing me one step closer to that "The Hitch, Official Cycling Genius :D" signature for 2012.

Thats very generous of you. And praise from Ceasar no less.

But i feel i need the Cq game to make it official.

Of course, if i come top 3 that still counts, the title of "official genius" will just be expanded to inlude more than 1 person.

Personally I would prefer if the team limit was set to 25 because anybody who is not max out can add all those rides like Cobo, Stybar, Deignan etc without costing you almost any points other than a spot on your team.

To make it fair, you should either add/remove Cobo, Stybar, Deignan etc to/from all teams. Or how about not allowing riders costing less than 10 points?

You do realize that part of the fun of the game is to find steals, this was especially the case before the teams were made public, meaning the first 25 or so contenders. If you look at other people their lists to find the steals, half the fun of the game is gone. The same if you take away those steals

25?

Me Mellow Velo and Timmy Loves Rabo were posting lots on the thread and made clear that we had our lists before the deadline, and posted our lists immediately.

Taking into account our integrity ;) and looking back at the posts, as well as the lack of Stybar on my team show that we can not be accused of cheating.

Unless you want to say that to my face

:D

Point is, its actually about 30, not 25. And see your pm anyway.

I agree, and even though I came late to the game I didnt look at any other teams as it would take away the fun part. That being said, you can see many of the late additions are clearly taking advantage of those teams being published.

Are we allowed to add/remove riders at this time?
I dont need Cobo or Stybar but how about those that were counting on some of the Pegasus riders?

Why do you think I said 'or so' ;)

But I don't know whether I can take you two timing two faced snitch serious seeing as you are part of two competing mobster families

Sneekes, seriously? DiReally? It looks like a list of all the bargains that were found be all the people up 'till that point.

@ Jancouver, I would guess that is one of the risk you take, similarly if you take Pellizotti, you don't know yet whether he'll be cleared and racing, the same with Stybar, I have no idea yet where he will ride during the road season. But honestly it is up to Hugo to decide

Good.

Too good unfortunately.

i think this list causes complications.

Up to now all the late entrants have put forward ambitious lists so to speak.

I and other posters who i have been in pm contact with, have agreed that this list is superior to our own ones, and superior to any list submitted before the December 9th deadline.

It contains pretty much every good pick there is, and tactically is on the mark. Looking at your previous posts i have no doubt that you have the cycling knowledge to produce this list, so Im not accusing you of any wrongdoing on your part.

The problem is that some of us are stuck with the lists which we hurried to get in before the deadline, which we know are imperfect, and have our regrets, while others are free to think about it and present lists closer to perfection.

I know from pms with others that i am not the only one who after the deadline, created a second, superior list by looking through CQ rankings seeing how points are given and looking at individual riders. And i know that my own list was very very similar to the one you just submitted.

The situation is that we cant change them, but for the next 3 weeks, anybody who hasnt entered has the time to go on CQ rankings, look individually at various riders. Has time to read this forum and get ideas. Has time to think.

This game is in many ways a mathematics game and there is a forumla and there is a right answer, and i think that you have come closer to getting the right answer than anybody else. The problem is, to speak metaphorically, you started the exam after everyone else, and there are people who are yet to sit.
