Wow, David Warner is murdering South Africa at the moment. 75 not out from 56 balls. This is like what he did to India at the WACA a couple of years ago.

Sri Lanka look really good value for the T20 World Cup. The only problem they have, as far as I can see, is the lack of form from Dilshan and to a lesser extent, Jayawardene and Mendis. Other than that, they've got a batting order that eats spin for breakfast, top class T20 spinners and Malinga.

India and Pak.istan look very strong, as well.

New Zealand were an absolute shambles, Kane Williamson aside, in that Sri Lanka match. No excuse to be bowled out for 60, with so many batsmen getting out trying some ridiculous slog, when the asking rate was 6 at the start of the innings. Herath bowled a brilliant spell (surprisingly, I never considered him to be much of a wicket taking threat at short form cricket, although he's second only to Ajmal as the best spinner around in test cricket), but all New Zealand had to do was to take singles for 120 balls. Instead they all perished dancing down the wicket trying to smash balls from a guy with 217 test wickets all the way to Auckland.

Laughable scorecard.

I caught some of the final - Sri Lanka's death bowling performance was the best collective team performance I've seen at the end of a limited overs innings. Then Jayawardene lit up the chase with some ridiculously good delicate, late cut shots.

Yuvraj is having a tough time of it, I understand. Some people were stoning his house in India. Sad stuff - it's only a cricket match. And it shows a complete lack of gratitude, considering Yuvraj starred for India in the 2007 WT20 and the 2011 50 over World Cup.

Indeed. Apparently Doug Bollinger had to escort Abbott off the ground, he was struggling with it so much. Abbott has already been sent counseling by the ACA who seem genuinely concerned for him. Hopefully he recovers as he's a talented young bowler who looks certain to play test cricket :(

hold the phone.
i'm now reading more on twitter (and here) about the compassion we should have with Abbott than about the compassion we should have with Hughes and his family.
that's pretty wrong if you ask me.
Yes, it's tragic for Abbott as well, but it's odd to see his name predominate in the the tweets/messages of support. The real tragedy is for the family of Hughes.
Abbott will recover. He's receiving plenty of support no doubt and sooner than later he himself will understand that he's not to blame for anything here.
Let's first focus on Hughes' family.

just saying it's disproportionate.
check the social media and you'll understand what i mean.
Tons of support messages first and foremost directed at Abbott rather than at Hughes/Hughes'family.
For example, I haven't seen any message saying "thoughts should also go out to Hughes' sister", although I'm quite sure she's struck by this more than Abbott is.
