Nice to see Kluge is in a good shape, important for Dege or Kittel looking at the TDF, with Veelers and also De Kort they should have a very good lead out train

Congrats EBH!
Gilbert is slowly getting better and better...
But he should have tried yesterday instead of today and he went pretty far out.

Well how easy was that!
Why Sky haven't given Hagen the green light this week until today is beyond me.

I'm guessing Sky will give him a couple of stages to target for himself in the tour, and they want to see how well he can perform after hammering all day on the front for a few days beforehand.

for the Tour of Beijing he will be fine ;)

nah maybe the japan cup;)

But seriously he looks better in every race although its frustratingly slow.
He should be good at the tour.
And by the late part of the season he will be back to normal.

Or maybe the only meaningful race he'll win this year will be Lombardia.

Now that really would be back to normal for him.

yeah hope he is good by then.
He was exhausted by then last season but that was because he was so strong early in the season.
Lombardy and the worlds are his targets.

Another stage of Dauphine done; nice until 2k to go. A bit kamikaze with those orange bikes flying around above our heads. #dauphine

We know. His other targets included MSR, Ronde and LBL too :p

But defo we should see him in good shape then. More like normal Gilbert from 3 years ago then the one this year though.

Yeah he will be back in the spring next year, I'm sure.

He talks about it here.

Basically he was supposed to be working today but other teams did it so he was able to have an easy day and then go for the sprint at the end.
Well he could definitely have won the two last stages as well if given the chance, so the question is why Sky didn't let him. It's not like it was vital to bring back the breakaways (that consisted of zero even remotely dangerous GC men) with 40k to go.

Attacking later wouldn't have made a difference ;)

Gilbert will not be back to normal until next season.

Winning 25% of the races he took part in in 2011 seems to have taken a toll on his body. He needs rest and not just 1 month, but rather a few months.

this. He clearly overdid it last year.
