Critérium du Dauphiné Stage 4

Critérium du Dauphiné Stage 4

Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux - Risoul: 210 km

First mtn stage also looks to be the easiest. I'm thinking the favorites have to be Brajkovic and Menchov.

Van den Broeck and Moreau could be in the mix as well. Of course, Contador will be a factor if he goes for it. Maybe Kessiakoff as a darkhorse pick. He seems to finally be regaining his form. How will Tejay climb?

I'm going to go with Menchov, Horner, Cobo & Samu Sanchez & an outside bet on Sicard.... all overwritten if AC gets serious, but if he's looking to test the climbing legs, he'll go for the Alpe d'huez instead

Yep. AC may do what he did to evans to menchov this year. May try to gift the win to Samu.

The corrupt spaniards have this stage in the bag.

I'll say Cobo for the stage win today. I think Brajkovic can climb well enough to hold on to the lead for today (unless AC gets serious), but my guess is he'll lose it on the stage to Alpe d'huez.

Brajkovic should be able to put at least a little time in to Tejay and a big chunk in to Millar. I would expect Contador to sit up now that he has dropped back on GC, but who knows with that guy, he may get bored and decide he wants to win. Menchov needs to show some good climbing legs.

I don't see anybody threatening Brajkovic. Contador could, but won't.
Expect a red train. This is Jani's payoff week.

I see ACF has been spewing the Contador hate, along with the original fanboys, on the time trial thread.

Corrupt Spaniards = Dauphine Lib 2009 and Piti's extra, super domestique killing off Cadel's GC aspirations and ultimately, his Tour form while out on a training ride!

JB started his life as a TT man then lost a load of weight and became a more than useful climber but his TT was not as strong. He looked like he had put some weight back this year which I guess resulted in a very good TT yesterday. Will be interested to see how he gets on in the mountains not sure he will be as good as he has been over the last 18 months or so but he may now have the balance right and be a serious GC contender.

Cobo or Taaremae for me today with all the main guys AC, DM and co keeping their powder dry for Alpe D'huez.

If Brajkovic climb as he did in the Vuelta 06 he will take the GC. I think Szmyd will be up there, Samilau has shown good form at the Giro and might as well snatch a top 10 on this stage. Sanchez will also be good. It will be betwen Brajko, Conta, Szmyd and Sanchez

Well Cadel won the dauphine and cadel does not need PED's or refills or anything corrupt of the sorts to win. I guess when Conti was out on a training ride at 2007 he beat cadel by 23 seconds.

Sorry should be in the clinic.
