Froome still looks like he could drop a few pounds. He'll be more powerful in the TT though.

Only two definitive ways to resolve the disagreement.

One, count the number of pages of the Giro thread and the Olympic RR thread in the cn forums.

Two, check which race is more often won by the Good Riders. which are those winning cobbled classics
Wasn't it el pistolero who used the number of google hits to find out which races are most prestigious? I wonder whether olympic road race or Giro d'Italia will get more results :D

Jojo, stop embarrassing yourself. Of course the Giro isn't less important than the Olympic RR.

Of course it is. Steven Kruijswijk nearly won the Giro. That says all you need to know. The Giro field has become better in recent years (since 2008), but it's still nowhere near the Tour. And the Giro field in 2000-2007 was just a joke. Simoni won the Giro twice, but he was totally useless in the Tour. The same goes for Savoldelli and Garzelli. Do you honestly think any of the guys I just mentioned are on the level of Greg Van Avermaet?

Olympics is bigger than anything in cycling besides the Tour.

Giro is only watchable on a shitty channel like Eurosport as well. Definitely going to hurt the race's prestige in the long run. Can you imagine if the Olympics was only watchable on Eurosport? Lol.

Fat doesn't add power...

But he still has some sort of lips, thin but visible. When those are completely gone he's ready for Le Tour.

Regarding Simoni, Salvoldelli, and Garzelli, could it be because they had a Giro in their legs?

I'd rate Paris-Roubaix higher, but then again Van Avermaet has won that one, too, so it's a moot point. He has two of the three biggest races in the bag. Or two of the biggest four if you happen to be Flemish and are not named Tom Boonen.

But yeah, RCS messed up with their deal with Discovery Communications. Well, that's assuming they care(d) about their races at all and it wasn't just about pocketing that $$$$... Regardless, my interest in the Giro has gone way down seeing as I now have to resort to ****ing internet streams that constantly freeze. And I'm not the only one who feels that way.

The Vuelta has already replaced the Giro as my second favorite GT, as I can actually watch it live.

Stage 2 - 4 km long finishing straight, last 500 m uphill .... strong sprinter to win. Kristoff or Ulissi. (or nobody cares and the breakaway wins! :D )

Middle part of the stage will have to be taken really easy if someone like Kristoff is to win this.

In the last 4 years, the Vuelta a Burgos was won by Contador, Quintana x2 and Taaramae. Contador and Quintana obviously are better riders than Ryder Hesjedal. Ergo, the Vuelta a Burgos is more important than the Giro?
Do us all a favor and be objective for once instead of this nonsensical bias towards your favorites and the races your favorites won.

The climbs today, according to cyclingstage.com, look fairly easy.

Côte de Croix Blanche (3) - 747m - 4.6km á 4.1%
Col de Verrières-en-Forez (2) - 860m - 9.7km á 4.7%
Col de Baracuchet (3) - 1266m - 6.2km á 4.9%
Col de Supeyres (4) - 1365m - 2.9km á 5.6%

The last climb from Arlanc to the plateau, where Novacelles is located, appears to be 8.1km at 3.2%. The summit of that "climb" comes with 24 kms to go.

I'd expect that the sprinters will hang on today.

Let's hope DD tries to shake them off again. The finish looks as it would fit EBH.

Pereiro won the tour, Vino won an Olympics (when he was effectively retired) and Sergio Paulinho has a silver medal. Your point is illogical.
