I fear Froome is going to crack badly on the final climb with all these attacks, big credit for trying though. Perhaps Froome losing time early on in the Tour would be the best thing for the race.

Shame this stage isn't shown fully. Froome seems confident more than ever, maybe he should be careful as over confidence and a crash could really damage his dominance. I'm no Froome fan but he seems to be flying to close to the sun right now. Attacking on flats, climbs, descending and from far out!? It's uber Lance stuff. He won't let anyone else get the win. He's definitely getting greedier from a winning point of view.

Yet he hasn't had a win yet this season? I think he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. People will moan if he's just riding the train and watching his power meter, when he actually tries to make the race entertaining he's greedy.

Porte reluctantly picks up the chasing after some track standing. Bardet and Fuglsang among those who got away?

Fuglsang has gotten away, Porte now has to chase alone with 6-7 guys on his wheels. Interesting situation.

Benoot climbing brilliantly again!

There was me thinking it was Valls finally delivering.

Corrected, Valls is in one of these groups.

Dumoulin is probably thinking he's glad that he had Quintana and none of these guys at the Giro ...

This!
The relatively low stakes and this being only stage 8, sbortness of the stage and relative ease of the climbs all have a little something to do with that too.

Not to mention gaps are a lot bigger at the end of a GT

Both the front duo and the chasing trio are working well together. Behind I think Orica is chasing again?
