Wout just gained a 10 second bonus too. Who can even take his yellow jersey away, certainly not Roglic and Vingeegaard?

Ineos pulling. Groenewegen must be wondering why he's gone to a team that sends its sprinters to races without flat stages, Groves is getting the same treatment by having to go to Suisse. Incredible that BikeExchange aren't doing any of the Belgian and Dutch races this month given that they really need the points as well...

Groenewegen had the choice of Dauphine and Slovenia - Allegedly he chose Dauphine to build up his mountain legs - BEX should have gone to the ZLM Tour instead of Slovenia - BEX is also tactically inflexible - It was common sense to have riders in the break in stage 3 and 5, while not pacing the peleton with the doubts about Groenewegen making the finish - You'll find one of Groves or Groenewegen will be at Slovenia - The saddest thing is that Groves would have made each of the finals so far in Dauphine.

Why did nobody tell me winning a stage in France comes with a bonus. You speak French after.

French in 3:38 hours.

BEX have Mezgec for the more select sprints and he's a chance to win a stage.

WvA could (should?) now have won all five stages.

He has always most reminded me of Freddy Maertens in his heyday.

Maertens likely the better sprinter.
pretty even in TT (perhaps slight edge to Maertens).
WvA the more consistent climber.

Impressed by Meeus, not by his sprint, but him surviving those last hills.

Actually hilarious that Bora didn't give him any help tho.

Rewatch the tape if you have GCN or Eurosport. They were hanging on the back with Politt and I think Fabbro waiting for Meeus as they were slightly distanced over the last hill and then again in the descent. With on km to go it was Politt who brought Meeus with a big effort through the whole peleton to the first half. It would have been really a win out of nowhere but I think he would have denied van Art if there was just a little bit more road left.

Meeus was maybe the last guy to make it into the group so a good effort by him and the team to bring him in the position to sprint others (Mozzato e.g.) weren't that lucky.

I don't know why Jumbo likes those thrillers with the breakaway. Probably they hope that they can get the win without putting some wind into their domestiques. The two Top teams in the race are reall contributing a lot in every single stage. That could make for a pretty interesting Stage 7 and 8 if some of their domestiques are already really tired.

Been watching road racing for 39 years. Just thought that was the most pathetic win since Bruyneel sucked Indurain's wheel for 22km in '95. Jumbo did not deserve that win. With the talent they have in their team they just sat on the wheels and let Ineos do ALL the work then sprinted the last 1/2 a K. Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. Loved Van Aert yesterday in the TT - what an athlete but his team's performance today was just a disgrace to cycling. Makes the sport a laughing stock.

Maertens career may have been shorter than most but he's the best sprinter I have seen.

The last two stages should will tell all about Froome and how much progress he has made.

To be honest I have no idea what BEX is doing these days apart from trying to look like amateurs...........

If Ineos are convinced that the impetus is on them to chase, then I don't see why Jumbo shouldn't take advantage. Not to mention wins like this happen all the time.

Wait until you see the Aussie team for the World's in Wollongong - The selectors will find a way to include Ewan and Hindley.

Failure of route design. GC guys haven't done anything but a TT until stage 7.
