Ineos pulling. Groenewegen must be wondering why he's gone to a team that sends its sprinters to races without flat stages, Groves is getting the same treatment by having to go to Suisse. Incredible that BikeExchange aren't doing any of the Belgian and Dutch races this month given that they really need the points as well...
Bakelandts has demonstrated before that he is an idiot. Nothing new here. Sorry for Benjamin Thomas and SchonbergerBakelants you f*cking dimwit. How did he start playing gsmes there...
Groenewegen will go to Tour of Slovenia next week angry for victory. Unforunately the stages are similar tho Deuphine:
Tour of Slovenia 2022, June 15 -19
More hot racing this year. Last year's edition was won by Pogacar. He is going to use this race as TDF preparation instead of Dauphine/Swiss, same as last year. But he is very keen to win it, being his home race obviously. This year he should also have a bit more competition. Also the sprints...forum.cyclingnews.com
And Ineos working because Ineos.Belgian Pozzato had to rely on his Belgian compatriot to stop working in the breakaway to win on a photo finish over Jordy meuss
Impressed by Meeus, not by his sprint, but him surviving those last hills.
Actually hilarious that Bora didn't give him any help tho.
To be fair Ineos did have a reason to work. And Ineos working because Ineos.
What?Been watching road racing for 39 years. Just thought that was the most pathetic win since Bruyneel sucked Indurain's wheel for 22km in '95. Jumbo did not deserve that win. With the talent they have in their team they just sat on the wheels and let Ineos do ALL the work then sprinted the last 1/2 a K. Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. Loved Van Aert yesterday in the TT - what an athlete but his team's performance today was just a disgrace to cycling. Makes the sport a laughing stock.
WvA could (should?) now have won all five stages.
He has always most reminded me of Freddy Maertens in his heyday.
Maertens likely the better sprinter.
pretty even in TT (perhaps slight edge to Maertens).
WvA the more consistent climber.
To be honest I have no idea what BEX is doing these days apart from trying to look like amateurs...........Groenewegen had the choice of Dauphine and Slovenia - Allegedly he chose Dauphine to build up his mountain legs - BEX should have gone to the ZLM Tour instead of Slovenia - BEX is also tactically inflexible - It was common sense to have riders in the break in stage 3 and 5, while not pacing the peleton with the doubts about Groenewegen making the finish - You'll find one of Groves or Groenewegen will be at Slovenia - The saddest thing is that Groves would have made each of the finals so far in Dauphine.
Perhaps they should Exchange their Bikes for something else. The last two stages should will tell all about Froome and how much progress he has made.
To be honest I have no idea what BEX is doing these days apart from trying to look like amateurs...........
If Ineos are convinced that the impetus is on them to chase, then I don't see why Jumbo shouldn't take advantage. Not to mention wins like this happen all the time.Been watching road racing for 39 years. Just thought that was the most pathetic win since Bruyneel sucked Indurain's wheel for 22km in '95. Failure of route design. GC guys haven't done anything but a TT until stage 7.WvA could (should?) now have won all five stages.
