I feel so conflicted. It would be amazing for Denmark if Vingegaard won the Tour.

But I really hope Roglic wins. It's going to be a crazy month. I just hope that Pogacar is not ten levels above them.

That's it! I'm definitely gonna have to take your citizenship now!
But I get what you mean; Roglic's been fighting for that Tour win so long, would be quite bad if he ended up overtaken in the team hierarchy by the substitute...
(Guess at least I won't have to find myself torn between wanting a Vingegaard win, and wanting a Pinot win.)

Yeah, I 100% agree. He comes off a bit arrogant when he pretends not to know what the blue jersey is, who's wearing it (Ganna...) and the name of O'Connor, even though the opposite is probably his intention.

I think it just makes him come across as a bit of a doof. And how do you know it's not genuine?

I think he's a bit disrespectful towards his rivals. When he was asked who would be among Jumbo's competitors in this race a few days ago, he was like "Uh, UAE, they're usually good, uh..."

He didn't have a clue who else was doing the race. Maybe he just sees his rivals like some evil computer game bosses who need to be defeated rather than fellow cyclists.

Also, "uh, which one is the blue jersey"?

Come on...

I start to like Vingegaard‘s interviews. He always appears a bit confused - which I really like… :) That makes it funny.

He was super loyal and strong today…

Great win for Verona, very strong finish. And a great stage for Roglic as well, Vingegaard and OConnor not fat back. I especially liked how well Chaves was going.

Yeah let's lose of the biggest talents in current cycling and our biggest chance to win RVV and PR in order to marginally improve our chances to win the Tour, I am sure Jumbo directors will think this way...
There is another way to look at it: The
Pogačar: hold my beer.
I just can't get on board with the notion that Pog -- and only Pog -- will win the 2022 Tour. Nor do I think Wout is anything like a shoe-in for Green.

We can only speculate about the goals of JV team management and sponsors, but I would take the deal of another poster and trade (possible) RVV and PR with Wout, for a shot at Yellow with Rogla.

So finally an Alpine test. Nice weather, great views and hard riding. Congrats to Verona on this prestiogious victory. It was close but he managed to hang on. As for the GC guys Vingegaard set up a big tempo on Vujany - very good performance by him. Then Roglic attacked after the steep section and gained some time over the rest - obviously a good sign for Primoz regarding his preparations. Unsurprisingly JV guys the strongest in this race but O'Connor was up there confirming his Tour podium aspirations.

Congratulations to Carlos Verona Quintanilla for winning the stage.

A nice mountainous stage with some very nice scenery. As suspected van Aert to pass the yellow to JV GC section. Likely preserving some energy for tomorrow. Vingegaard again being a great lead out man for Rogla. Rogla clearly on decline. Just managed to push through the finish line. As Sepp would say it was Steep enough. But it wasn't long enough. Tomorrow the terrain is much more suitable for a proper stomp.

That was a pretty good stomp, in my opinion. Rogla shredded the other guys' GC standings effectively. The stage win was immaterial.

The astonishing landscaping of this stage.

I am planning to go to France this summer for Le Tour and now my wife is pushing harder and harder after watching these mountains, lake and waterfall!
If you do, stay in LaClusaz. It's the center of a group of stages and amazing pavement: Cols de Saise, Manigod to Aravis, Grand Bournand and the stage that turns to gravel are all ridable from your front door. Then spend a few days near Bourg d'Osain or drive there. Not as interesting riding except the big Cols but lots more people.

Congrats to Verona. Nice to see him get a stage win. He's been such a good mountain helper for a long time now, it's nice to see him get something for himself.

Matteo Jorgenson is still in the GC top 10. Does he have a good chance of staying there after tomorrow's stage? I'd like to see him get an overall GC 10. and am hoping he can.

Think it will be very hard.. He is the weakest climber (if today is a good ruler) of those close behind him.

I think elite sports stars are often just very good at what they do and many are not engaged like fans in studying in detail the competition and looking at things like the strength of the startlist etc.

Yeah it’s a bit aloof but I don’t feel like it is him being arrogant.
