It is a Giro form carry over. It has happened many times in the past. He body was already running high. He is ready for a good break.

I think he should ride the Tour. Aka no rest for the wicked.

...

In other news, Gaudu totally exploded (lost 19 minutes) & Carapaz was even worse (30 minutes & one of the last riders to finish).

Chapeau Ciccone & Vingegaard for the GC. Jumbo did the business but losing Kruijswijk is bad news.
Looks like some guys took today as a Sunday spin with thoughts of "saving themselves" for the Tour. More altitude training though might be in order. Pinot must be getting deluged with pleas to ride the Tour.

Great win by Ciccone. Brutal finish to the race even Alaphillipe didn't need any pantomime faces, as they happened naturally..............domination by Vingegaard. Good week for Yates and O'Connor. Hindley looks like he still has better condition to come. Landa and Gaudu switched off early. Meintjes slips into 7th place overall. Good training ride for Bernal.

Kruijswijk is way past it. If he wasn´t Dutch, he would not be considered for the Tour anymore at Jumbo. They should bring Valter instead, probably a better option than Kelderman.
