The amount of riders sandbagging in the press at the moment is reaching breaking point, tedious stuff.

Someone can become an instant favourite by going out and saying something audacious, I want to hear from Skjelmose, he might do it.

Lmao I have no recollection of this quote, but that was a massively stupid thing to say, even at the time. In the Vuelta he struggled against 23 y.o. Enric Mas, while the Giro field that year was absolutely stacked with Roglic, Dumoulin, Nibali, etc.

Looked scary for Primoz. He was sitting at 45 on the GPS time between 1st and 2nd intermediate, so I thought he'd ship 1'30 or something. Guess I was too quick there because he did a great TT.

My favorite to win the race now.

Great stage for Remco. He will still improve on his TT, since he's still not in top form. Now we will see what his form is in the mountains. Hopefully he's among the top climbers and then keep improving his climbing. All in all the sky is the limit. Go Remco Go!!!

Chapeau Remco - very solid performance. Obviously got the splits and timings right, unlike Roglic who seemed to start off too slow and was moving around on the bike. Yesterday's crash or not 100% yet? Tarling again a very good TT.
Lazkano a surprisingly good TT. Will Movistar deep dig into their pockets to keep him or will he leave at the end of the year?
We'll see how good Remco's climbing legs are over the weekend.

Gaudu with a respectable performance in line with expectations as per usual

Most overrated GC-prospect in the world. Francaise des Jeux are in big trouble man. Good thing he alienated Démare so they dont have anything going for them at all!

Yeah but he gained the moral victory by doing it, the real prize.

He was also joking, Lancastrian humour, everyone thought he was serious though and Nibali got offended, was really funny at the time but I assume he got a bollocking from the press officer for doing it.

Roglic said in the post-race interview that he's not in top shape, as is to be expected in light of the Tour, but that he wanted to start faster. Remco can't be in top shape either and the mountains will show if he's going into the Tour on good footing or otherwise.

Roglic did not seem to be in top shape, but I don't know if Remco could improve a lot more for a TT.

Really good time from Remco, for someone that is coming from a shoulder injury it would be difficult to do better. A word about Tarling as well, the TT was not perfect for him and he still performed very strongly, he is looking good for the Olympics. Jorgenson and Gee also performing above my expectations.

I expected a bit better from Roglič, he is usually bery strong in these hilly TTs but this one didn't have the steep gradients that he likes so much and maybe felt the crash a little bit. The riders that really disappointed me where Ayuso and Vlasov, the former showed a great TT ability earlier in the year but losing almost a 1:30 min to Remco, there is no way he can win the Tour or even come close so I hope he works for Pogačar when he has to and Vlasov is usually a very consistent time trialist so I am surprised that he lost almost 2 minutes. Not a good day for Rodriguez either.

He was impressive for this TT and looked comfortable. Perhaps not on his top Tour form but that is as it should be. Hopefully this translates into good climbing for the last two stages!

Considering he was off the bike for 3 weeks and then only 4 weeks training, Remco should still have a decent margin of gain coming. So I'd imagine, depending on how he rides the mountains now and droping 1-1.5 kilo before the Tour, Evenepoel could reach a big peak yet.

I don't see why you'd expect more than this? Carlito was quite solid today, much better than in last year's Dauphiné.

Is Gaudu sick or something as he's really struggling recently? (4 minutes behind Remco, jeez) Little Lenny M is their best guy at the moment and he's supposed to be off to Bahrain.
