Apart from the obvious Rem vs. Rog .vs Pog .vs Vin debate The interesting aspects is which team has the best super domestics. Can Landa and van wilder match Kuss and Joergensson can they in turn match Ayuso or Hindely and Vlasov. This tour will likely be won by the “Star” who has the best help in the mountains. Souldal seems to upped their game much more then I thought by the recruitment of Landa add Alaphilippe and their team is not such disadvantaged anymore. Anyways Friday and Saturday will show.
Or more probably by a "Star" who emerge as the strongest of them. I doubt best help in the mountains will be the most decisive.

The one that has a team that manage to set the “right” tempo in the race in the hard stages will have a clear advantage. Vinegaard didn’t defeat Pogacar by himself it was Wout Kuss and Roglic that laid the groundwork. In a “normal’ tour they will all have bad days then it will be impossible to limit losses without the right team. So if the big 4 is somewhat equally good the team will decide. Could be Pog is on a new supernatural level and then of course common sense does not apply.

It is raining and it looks is gonna rain till the end.

Didnt look a dangerous break...but with rain lot of scenarios are possible today as the climb they are now is quite hard and later are more smal climbs...we will see if any team want to fight for GC issues.

Have we learned nothing from Remco's LBL and Vuelta wins.

He is a big time sandbagger.

Only time he was remotely honest was before last year's Vuelta when he tipped off he didn't quite have enough to win when he said a stage win with a podium means no more to him than 4 stage wins and a 12th overall

Ayuso getting his ass stomped big time
What do you mean ? A sandbagger. He is back in "normal" shape, well let's say at 99 %. BUT only for the TT. He has the ideal weight now for TT, but he is clearly still overweight for climbing. As long there will be a steady pace uphill, Evenepoel will not be in trouble. Once the climbers and Roglic, Ayuso etc will jump.. and more than once, Evenepoel will be dropped. Not a problem regarding the Tour. After the Dauphiné he will train for ten days on altitude to improve his explosiveness and resistance uphill.
At the moment Evenepoel is back at a good level, but still some way from his top condition and his fitness weight.

I really don’t get the narrative. And people haven’t been paying attention. The day before the TT he was saying he felt really good and wanted to contest the sprint but got a flat tire in the finale. He had been really honest. His form is improving and has been outlining this since the start of the race

If Remco keeps this form, nobody is dropping him
I don't think Evenepoel is already able to react on attacks and pace accelerations uphill. Well, that should be a miracle after only revalidation, a bit of riding and an altitude trainingperiod. It's possible he will have one good day uphill, but I expect him being dropped at least one, probably two days. Still not a problem. He has another two weeks to improve.
