You're kidding of course, but actually him finishing behind Jorgenson is more worrying than behind Evenepoel or Vingegaard. He just looks quite flat. Vingo on the other hand looks like he is in top shape already.

Let's wait for the mountains, but so far it looks like Pogi can definitely be beaten... in this Dauphiné, that is.
Don't take the bait!!
3 days ago Pogacar rained with praise from everyone about his sprinting ability!! Hundreds if not thousands of posts here about UAE, specifically Pogacar ruining racing because of dominance and now, bipolar swing with a few saying he is washed up because of a TT loss!
Pog or Pog fans should take away zero serious from him getting an as$kicking, it happens, he still kept good pace, had decent split times..
And jerseys.. He lost to the rainbow in TT discipline, Remco has shown little to threaten what Pogacar can do on the road. Jonas will show if long layoff is insignificant when climbing starts. Remco doing an interview in French, maybe another loss, troubling sign for Pogacar!!
Remco really looks and sounds like he is balance. Impressive.
Visma getting lots of good indicators!!

What is he doing, it's a bit out of order going over and messing with the bike no?

Settle down, Francis. Pog did exactly the same thing sprinting like a madman to put time into Vingo in the 2022 Tour, only to be stomped in the end. :p

I definitely don't see myself as part of the 'sky is falling' crowd, but he looked sluggish and uncomfortable on his bike today, perhaps just an off day? But if he is indeed struggling with his position, that's not just an explanation for today, it's a whole new variable for the Tour as well. I don't think there is any universe in which a rider wants to be struggling with TT position 3+ weeks out; I understand there are pretty minimal TT k's but it's just another thing he can't afford if Jonas is at 100%.
Unless I’ve completely misremembered this I believe he’s done this before - 2021 Slovenian National ITT he was trying a new position , and lost to Tratnik and Polanc. Then 2 weeks later he destroyed everyone on stage 5 using his old position.

Pogi looked uncomfortable on the bike. He did change his position a couple years ago and it was exactly like today. Why change something when it’s working, and it didn’t work when he tried to change before.

Strong win from Remco. Solid from Vingo. Curious how long he can hold his yellow jersey in the mountains, will be tough.
I felt this the whole ride he looked jerky and cadence was too high and maybe he went out too fast. Certainly didn't look fluid on the bike. Pogacar can race a bit more calm without the jersey. Excellent showing by Romeo and Lipowitz will put more pressure on Remco if he wants to win.. Nobody knows? Remco has said in interviews that all his climbing criteria are best ever.. We will wait and see.

Never known a TT to be described as a strategic day. It is certainly a critical day.

Remco needs to deliver big. Pog and Vingegaard need to attack that 1.8km @8.7% lump in the middle.
Remco delivered big. He nuked that hill and had amazing technique in doing it. Jonas was thrashing that section and may have lost his biggest chunk on what would be "his" territory. Matteo definitely set the tone for JV, today.
As for strategic: Pogacar had the advantage of following and, depending on what UAE would want to do for overall ambitions; he could ship some time and leave questions unanswered about Tour prospects. IMO he/UAE didn't plan on dumping that much time. He looked ragged on the hill compared to Remco.

But this just says how good Jorgenson's form is, who is on a team that can maximize his preparation. If anything, they know what they are doing in preparing for a Tour.
And we don't know what Pogacar was planning to do today. He looked good on the flats but not so much on the hill. He didn't seem to lose much on the run in.
It would have been very interesting to hear the conversation from the follow car.
