I was thinking that also but please read the posts of Danielson. He knows more than you and me about cycling. I am 100 % sure now that Pogacar was training in the TT.
Other, perhaps less deluded connoisseurs than Danielson have pointed out that he just wasn't comfortable on his TT bike. Which you could clearly see. Why on earth would he be sandbagging in a TT? So he could surprise us today and show that he's actually a great bike rider?

First part of Pogačar's revenge saga. The next chapter will be the Hautacam, followed by the Mont Ventoux and Col de la Loze.

Its still surprising to watch him put so much time into Vingegaard and Remco which didn't have a good day especially the latter. Great performance from Lipowitz, he absolutely needs to be in Red Bull's Tour team.

Seixas impressive once again with Barré and Tobias Johannessen doing very well too.

Surprised how easily Jonas got dropped - hard to see how he would be "better in the mountains" than Pogi in 4 weeks time.

Jorgenson looked good today - you wonder what he could do if not working for Jonas. Maybe Ving will work for him in the Vuelta or Giro

But still it does not mean a lot in a greater scheme. They probably all came slightly undercooked so TDF should be fun (I hope so).
Yep, agreed, anyone who did not come in undercooked is in for a long Tour. They'd have to maintain a peak for over a month at this point. The question is how far they all are from their respective peaks. Pog looked to be the farthest after the TT, now I don't know. OTOH, he didn't even look like he was going full gas on this climb.

Firstly I am sorry to say that any dreams about Remco being a Tour winner are truly delusional. He isn't and he was never a climber for the high mountains

I also think while today Pogacar was too strong I still think that the Tour is long and Vinge has had very little racing for an age. We might still see a battle in the high mountains in the third week

Had to laugh given Pog interview this morning when Daniel Friebe asked him about ego and not putting it all out there today and maybe waiting for the Tour. And Pog agreed . Yeah right he wanted today to show who is boss after his defeat in the TT,

Getting trounced by Pogi doesn't necessarily mean someone isn't a climber for the high mountains. But agree, not a great showing today. I'll expect a lot more come Tour time from Remco. If you podium the Tour, you're a climber for the high mountains IMO.

Because Vingegaard has beaten him twice. But now Vingo is barely better than second tier riders. Yeah, then it becomes rather easy.
My dude, it's ancient times. It's totally different and has absolutely zero relevance to today—you know this.

If it had any relevance today, then sure, buddy, I would love to have a meaningful debate about it, maybe even a duel id love that too. But now you have to make stuff up, and there's an incredible amount of wishful thinking involved to even thinking its gonne be close, iim not into that I only care about facts.

He plays with them, and the gap is monstrous. It is what it is. Doesn't matter who likes it or not.

BTW Mt Blanc massif is so majestic, even on TV. Elevation difference in this area reach 4 km! If you want to see really big mountains and are reluctant to trek in the Himalayas then go there to see smaller and more civilized version of them. I've see some of the biggest mountain faces on the planet (Dhaulagiri west and Annapurna south) but arriving into Mt Blanc massif still impressed me very much.

I think you are all misunderstanding my question.

If changing the length of the crank arm, changes the force applied (because you are pushing the pedal softer/harder) - for the same time/distance - why wouldn't that skew a W/kg comparison to someone on a different length crank arms over the same time/distance?
I don't know the answer but a power meter would be calibrated accordingly for those changes. Whatever that factor would be it still would need the data from the individual. Trying to game the cadence and crank length off of video or Strava would skew the resulting output?

If Prudhomme wants to challenge Pogi, he should have the ASO go about adding a road surface all the way to the summit of Mont Blanc.

Now that would be next level MTF.

Well we have seen it before . I dont know what Vinge's level is or if he had a bad day today but he has beaten Pog before. We have seen Pog attack him and beat him and he has come back and won. Pog does look unassailable but cycling is a mysterious mistress . And its quite annoying that so many on here forget that time and time again

His lack of comfort would suggest that he hadn't spent much time on that bike. That said it would also become and experimental effort at best.
Today's result showed maximum comfort on his bike. He rode a little bit longer climb seated than yesterday. No?

Yeah, a moster climb this would be. This year I did a similar elevation gain hiking: on Tenerife I went straight from the beach almost to Teide (3700 m) in over 8 hours (27 km up non-stop). I started from tropics but still brought spikes (for ice and snow). I guess Teddy, Vingo and co would be much faster but still it was quite a vertical challenge to me!
