C Rod is quitely getting there as well. Riding himself into form.Maybe we could get a battle for 3rd in the tour. Remco might be challenged.
Mas didnt look too bad either here but he often disappoints in Tour and is better in Vuelta/fall.

Yes, very well done. Yesterday the MVPs were Wellens and Narvaez and today Pavel.Very good ride from Sivakov today. He stepped up when it mattered here.
The problem at least in the current moment, is Pog and Ving's teams are so far superior to his own; he's not racing the two aliens in a vacuum.Evenepoel solid, but not good enough for 3rd place.
After him saying he was in TdF shape i was expecting a bit more.
At the same time his results are in line with last year. Only Lipo relegating him to 4th this time around in the dauphine.
I like evenepoel, but uphill he'll probably always be behind Pogacar and Vingegaard. He's gonna need to take time on mid-mountain stages. Find a way to raid those.
I don't agree he wen't easy, until the last bit where he clearly dropped time on purpose.Honestly doubt it.
Pogi really went easy and in control while Vingo went really hard.
And especially this year not doing the Giro before, very very little chances that 3rd week fatigue becomes a thing
If you want to see Pog going all out I suggest you rewatch the Pla d'Adet and Plateau de Beille climbs. His grinding and his expressions on the finish line and then compare with today.I don't agree he wen't easy, until the last bit where he clearly dropped time on purpose.
For around 9K the gap howered between 18 and 22 seconds, while they both went hard.
Fortunately we have a rider like Pogačar to honour the sport in its fullest.
I found this climb hillarious to watch, he literally had to hold himself back from pushing, while the others were completely spent and dead. He was smiling and looked like he had to actively slow down his speed even several times..It's a smart, don't get me wrong to not give away anything and ride conservatively at the same time, but at the same time, it's borderline hilarious to watch the difference. If you want to see Pog going all out I suggest you rewatch the Pla d'Adet and Plateau de Beille climbs. Javier SolaPluuuuussssseeeee you think every rider doesn't honour the sport ? Being the strongest has nothing to do with honour. I'd just like to know what happened in the winter of 2023 ?
Agree. It's almost worse he won the TT here; briefly soar to great heights only to be swatted down like a fly; this is a pretty big psychological blow to absorb regardless of how much his crash might have affected him.I understand it for Vingegaard. Remco should have gone and just won Suisse though. Avoid these guys and a favourable route for him
I've made a thread for the Tour de Suisse if you're in need for some respite. True, it's hard to beat the star power of the Dauphine, but I'm sure the scenery will be just to die for and Nairo is slated to ride, so it's all good!Gotta exit this thread alive while I can
What do you think his time could have been if he went all-out? 38'00" - 38'30"? Faster?Pogacar rode the last climb in 39'23'' which gives about 1700 m/h of VAM on this moderately steep climb (6.8%). Good but not thermonuclear.

This is all painfully true. Pogacar had enough in the bank, summoned the car , brought provisions, maybe an ice bag to his teammate on the front going 100 meters effortlessly from front to back with half the guys he passed being on the limit. Combination between class and calculation to wait until @10 to go before rolling off, he obviously could have gone earlier, easily if he wanted to.. He did multiple demoralizing moves, guy is flying..I found this climb hillarious to watch, he literally had to hold himself back from pushing, while the others were completely spent and dead. His body language made it seem like he was just on a casual cafe ride oppose to them. Its night and day in reality to everyone else, it is what it is and lets be real who woulda thought, its not like he doesnt drop every powerhouse in the world on flat cobbles in Robauix now for fun(besides MvdP) and several more things..Its yeah own league nothing else in reality, abselutely no surprise.
What. Visma had four riders and other teams had multiple riders. They could still have gained a bunch of time if the group behind was disorganised.

He had some Johnny Rotten, Christopher Walken hair thing going on post race which was just another surprise!!
Yeah, hence they could have tried to get away with any those riders. Make Sivakov close gaps... as he did once and when he was finished Pog.What. Visma had four riders and other teams had multiple riders.
Yup, the guy wasnt even pushing on the climb, his body langugage compared to yesterday when he was, he was having a coffe ride. I like the guy not to say I wouldn’t want things to be closer for the sake of entertainment. But that doesn’t change reality just because I wish it was. In reality, the difference is just completely over the top—it is what it is. and he is completely mocking them, he just is.This is all painfully true. What you are saying is 100% true if podium or winning is the only criteria, but if lining up lieutenants for TDF is what this and TdSwiss is about they are doing ok..Visma doing their best UAE at the Giro impression with 3 in the top ten and 4 in the top 15 and none in the top one.
