Since it's France, I'm going to do wine glasses. Pantani has the melon's patent.

:wineglass::wineglass::wineglass::wineglass::wineglass:Thomas, López
:wineglass::wineglass::wineglass::wineglass: Martin, Gaudu
:wineglass::wineglass::wineglass:Porte, Mas
:wineglass::wineglass: Quintana, Hart
:wineglass:Konrad, Izagirre, Valverde, Kuss, Vingegaard, O'Connor
I've got kind of a blackout and can't figure out which Martin is this about..

Ineos might try to let Geoghegan Hart win as consolation for being a super-domestique again. Although in that case they better would've sent him to Switzerland with Adam Yates!

Carapaz isn't a domestique for me. Actually he's Ineos best option to beat the Slovenians in France with a clever long-range attack. So if he ends up being stronger than Thomas I'm not surprised.

Porte though...

Carapaz actually rides Switzerland now!

Break: Gamper, Van Moer, Garrison, and Gautier. Peloton at 3:50.
Someone forgot to tell Van Moer that this is the "Ga-break"...
LOL.
I read the first line of your post and had an idea.
Then I read the 2nd line of your post and realised I was not the first one to have this idea.

Do people not consider Valverde a contender?

Depends on what the team strategy is. Valverde is a shoo in for a Top 10 if he puts his effort in. If Mas is in form and they are riding for him, then Valverde should be up there since they seem to work well for each other. I don’t know whether GC is a goal for Valverde here, though he’s never far off. He’s riding the TdF more as Olympic prep so I have no idea how his form is right now. López seems to be riding well since recovering and Mas was starting to find his form before heading to altitude camp or whatever he has been doing since his last race.

You know RD never misses peculiarities and mistakes when it comes to rider names.

Van Moer is incredibly strong again, but this is gonna be really hard to pull off when Bahrain will come to the front for Colbrelli.
