Makes perfect sense, if it's about Dan rather than Tony.

That explains a lot. :) I was already flippin' over the whole Tony Martin craze.

I do think Tony has deserved the "Martin" label though. Let's address the other Martin as Daniel Martin or Dan Martin if you must.

Yeah it is about Dan. Also why did Kadri not start and Cadel had no teammates at all in the finale i have just realised

Kadri was injured.

From CN:
Finally, Frenchman Kadri abandoned the Dauphiné overnight and was diagnosed with a tear to his left calf which will put him out of competition for two weeks. Kadri's participation in the Tour de France is now in doubt. The team said the final determination will be made by the team doctors after monitoring the progress of the injury.

Meh, in the final few km's only Cofidis and Europcar had team members. It will be more important for cadel regarding the tour if he has guys with him when they Allevard and once they start the climb.

ACF Wiggo and Evans are similar diesel riders I think

Wiggo is more of an enigma than Evans, which is why Evans can appear stronger because he doesnt give up - but I think if one drops the other on a 5% they will drop them on a 10%

It's not like comparing Wiggo to Rujano
well he hardly dropped him...

The reason why cadel had constantly kept on closing the gaps was because he was he was quite far down as he was positioned that well.

Partly that and partly because he didn't look so great. Cadel said on his blog that tommorow will be different.:)

Tomorrow he will ride all living hell out of everyone else. Anyway steep stuff do suit evans although he might be more chunky than the contador, schleck type.

Finally just watched the last 6km of stage 5. Nice win by Kern, who has obviously taken some tongue wagging lessons from Virenque. :D

But poor Martin the Panzerwagon was hammered by das panzerfaust. :(

I'm going to love it tomorrow when Cadel delivers on his promise tomorrow will be different. But Wiggins looks strong though, maybe too strong to overtake. Shall be interesting.

We'll see. I am not so sure about how he'll go. The people who have strongest form will definetly be up the front which is why I think Wiggins will go well. The steep grades will be descisive to filter out the weak.

Yes but the climbs that the peleton are going up tonight are much tougher and we are much closer to the tour. Tonights climb is a brute!

11km @8.4% is a bit different to 1.5 km @12%

But isnt cadel a good climber. But yes there are people with better form than him. Lets hope he surprises us and puts in an attack.

Like I said, we'll see. Classy field here. It wouldn't surprise me if he put in an attack although Wiggins will be tough to beat and Jani Brajkovic, Sanchez, VDB and possibly Gesink will attack.

A double win by Burghardt again ?:p

last years domination was awesome. they won 2 stages, sprints, points, mountains and a 4th on GC. lots of other candidates now. Burghardt, Ballan, GVA for stage wins. Tschopp for the GC. Bookwalter for the TT. frank for the mountains jersey. Lots of variety but they gotta make it stick. Anyway its their home race they usually do well in it.

I liked the way Burghardt won - the 40 km solo in the pouring rain was awesome !- But he was horrible in the Tour, way past his peak... I'd rather they suck now and support Evans properly in the Tour
