There's no way Froome is going to go ultra mutant on a stage like this. Contador and Nibali might have digs, froome will respond like it aint no thing and possibly drop them a little bit.

Thanks, may make the sprint quite interesting then.

What sprint? Dawg is going full mutant from at least 5 km out. He needs to show everyone who the Alpha Dawg is.

I don't believe the final climb is hard enough to make a selection and that a group of favorites will come in together, with Moreno still there and his kick and post-Giro form giving him the speed to take the uphill sprint. As with the opening stage, I'll offer a complete top ten.

Daniel Moreno | Team Katusha
Christopher Froome | Team Sky
Alberto Contador | Tinkoff - Saxo
Vincenzo Nibali | Astana Pro Team
Andrew Talansky | Garmin Sharp
Tejay van Garderen | BMC Racing Team
Adam Yates | Orica GreenEdge
Richie Porte | Team Sky
Romain Bardet | AG2R La Mondiale
Jakob Fuglsang | Astana Pro Team

Haven't you learned that if you say Dawg is going to go mutant 5 k out and dawg doesn't go mutant 5k out your mortal enemies (sky fans) end up telling you that you vastly overexagerate Dawg's actual ability?

Like in Pais Vasco last year when you (and tbf loads of others) acted as if Richie had the gc wrapped up and were already talking about how ridiculous his upcoming tt win would be.
But he didn't win the tt.
And he didn't win the gc.

If Froome beats everyone by a mile, again, it will be entertaining no doubt and it will be perfectly understandable if everyone makes a big deal out of it and the forum crashes.

But lets wait for that to actually happen first.

The only way Contador and Nibali will fight for this stage is if Froome stops to autograph his book with a couple of Kms to go.

:D

Voted Froome with no forum crash. I think (and hope) that Contador can be pretty close to him though.

By the way, didn't the forum crash last year because Kloden got second again into Le Grand Bornand, and because that stage itself was so exciting?

It had nothing to do with Froome :D

Poll only needs the first two categories the others are superfluous:D

Seriously though, froome has this, contador and nibs finishing 2nd and 3rd about one minute behind him.

situation on dauphine doesnot incline on demonstration of uber power. 5-10 guys to finish within 20-30 sec

I think Froome is eager to put contador's in his place. He can't wait to stomp his authority as early as tomorrow. I don't think he isn't going to wait until saturday. He is out for blood. Expect Froome to attack hard.

Agree, but not for AC's sale but to shut the mouth of those W's Tour bid supporters:eek:

It will definitely be Froome with no forum crash - we will leave the forum crashing for the TdF.

i understand the battle between fans of dawg and AC, but

is there a chance for the young Yates?
the climb doesnt seem to be that hard + OGE seems to be having a lucky patch winning atleast one stage in every stage race.

(i voted for forum crash. yest was a near miss. kudos to the sysadmins of the forum to keep the site running)

I'd love to see Yates do well here but this is a whole new level to what he's faced so far. It would be good to see him top 10 though.

Honest to god I wish that "dawg" thing would go away.

It is a feeble attempt to give personality to someone utterly lacking in it. To give character to someone who has displayed only the worst possible traits of character.

Please, stop.

I think it'll be telling who fights for the win and who doesn't. Contador tried once last year and then left it to Rogers, he's also marked Evans and gifted Valverde a win in 2009. Likewise NIbali in form doesn't necessarily push at this race, despite 3rd place in the Tour 2012, he rode to 28th in Dauphine.
This time I see Froome taking the stage, Contador on his wheel, not under pressure and never attacking.

The dawg to go full ***, in an effort to drop everybody, AC to follow his wheel, 500 m from the line AC goes along side him and asks: "Was that all?", then turns into road runner mode and takes the stage.

Standing on the podium Alberto gently whispers to the dawg "Just wait till July mi amigo!" and gives the pistolero sign to the public.

Froome v Contador could end up marking each other a bit here. Maybe some one like Konig could take advantage of that
