8 minutes slower than Lance in his prime. The guy is good. Jani is clean. Well a little bit clean.

don't forget the wind factor and that AC did the majority of the pulling.

That Bracjovic guy was clearly doped. He never broke a sweat !! always on his seat. I hope they do drug analysis after the race

If you can tell what is in a man's system by his position on the bike I suggest you take it up in The Clinic.

very impressed by jb. And he should give ac the win since he has the overall.

Yeah, they agreed to this.

45 minutes doesn't put them in clinic territory. Not even close.

doping = clinic

wow - a real shocker coming from you

I liked what brajkovic did today very impressive but he came out of nowhere to win the dauphine and counter every move by contador on alpe d'huez is perplexing

No motivation to break records today.

JB was only going to defend, AC was testing JB a bit but AC seemed only to care about he stage win...else why bother with chasing down Szmyd?

AC was allout many times. The fact was he couldn't drop Jani.

My favourite rider of the day and the one that impressed me the most was Coppel, great to see him struggle and when he came up to the front trying to place an attack, great ride for the young guy

It all makes sense if you recognize Berti and Jani are at different stages of their preparation cycles (training blocks and biochemistry wise, like Menchov at the Giro last year).

Repeat: Floyd the year he won the Tour was half an hour off the back on the Dauphine climbs, albeit that's a "little" extreme for an example. Hyperbole, but it makes the bio-chemistry cycle point (addition/subtraction of you know what).

Nice stage, a lot of attacks. Did any1 see the Mavic motocycle blocking Szmyd at the end of eurosport coverage? Was that after the finish or before?

Yeah, and Landis was using some extra gear:rolleyes:

Better example would be Sastre. Nearly finishing with an autobus on Dauphine, winning the Tour a month later.

Nice ride by JB! Looks like a strong young kid. Gonna be a big feather in his cap.

I liked AC's guts here. You can see he was really grinding. The guy's a fierce competitor. And a class act to go over and congratulate JB at the end.

wow. was that a radioshack rider hugging alberto contador?! the boss is not going to like that.

i like this jb kid. he's got class.

A lot of the guys on Radioshack and Astana are still good friends. LA seems to be the only one that can't along with anybody else. Popo, Kloeden, Brajkovic, Zubeldia, Paulinho, Horner, etc. A lot of those guys are friends both with Alberto and Vino, and with other members of Astana. Many staff members from the two teams are friendly too, since a lot of them used to work together. This rivalry between the teams is basically LA versus Ac, rather than the two teams hating each other.

Alberto was very complimentary of Jani after his TT win, so not surprised to see the hug after today's stage.

Also, props to Horner for pacing TJ up the climb. Not surprised by that either. Horner is a cool cat.

I have profound respect for Chris Horner. Guy is just a consummate professional.

you cannot be serious, it's bull****, anti-contador riding, american alliance?
remember maybe you and the people that saw a good ride in Horner today are the same that criticised samuel's movement in Basque country stage that somehow benefit Valverde and that Horner hilmself blasted so hard!

Horner... I don't like you

You got the wrong kid--I didn't have any issue with Samu/Valverde at Pais Vasco. And you might want to step away from the computer a bit.

Agreed. Especially considering he went into this race as team captain. Too bad he is just an average time trialer. But the guy has no problem instantly transitioning to super domestique, he even seems to enjoy it.

Incredible racing today by AC and JB. I would suggest that AC doesn't quite have the form he did last year at this time when he was doing the same thing with evans and valverde. JB shows that he really deserves this win. At the end there, for a couple seconds, i thought he might drop AC.

some of these comments....

i hope some of you go back and watch the stage again, i was unable to get any live feed and have watched the wcc upload on you tube a couple times.

It seems that some of the comments made while watching it live are a emotional reaction to what you saw, when you know how it ends and you can just watch replays, i really question how accurate some comments are.

Horner smoked a very strong TT field at PV in April......

Good stage today.
