Riders can wreck their Tours at the Dauphine. Lance nearly did against Mayo.

Landis in the year he won the Tour almost couldn't pedal in some of the Dauphine mountain stages. Like half an hour off the back.

Biochemistry/blood cycle is the key.

Would be great for Szmyd to win the Alpe! What a reward for all his work...

Ventoux last year and Alpe D'Huez this year. That would be great.

Does what we are seeing today mean that Johan's super special secret sauce is better than Giuseppe Martinelli's? Stay tuned in July to find out!

Did anyone think say that Contador won't win the TdF, based on his performance today? He looks really good if you ask me, and he's still four weeks away from hitting peak form.

To those watching - is VDB still there? And if yes, how does he look?

he was behind the 3 (cont; szmyd; braj) and he was struggling a little it seemed. But still in 5-6-7 position.

Seems actually they are closing the gap... 10-15s?

make that 3-4s

and returning.

Would Jani be there to peak? i doubt it as he would be gaining for the tour also.

JB isn't assured a spot (he's been passed over several times). Gallopin said he was targeting this race.

I'd love to be able to climb mountains like these guys. I think Szmyd will take the stage and Contador may crack.

I get the feeling that AC loves racing. JB is riding impressively though. Very impressively.

EDIT: Is this not great training for the potential varying attacks that AC will supposedly face? Frankly I think he has no reason to cover all of these attacks.

And most impressed by JB's composure and mental toughness. Kid has the goods. I hope Bruyneel is watching and will give him a shot at being team leader at a GT.
