Caruso certainly likes GT 3rd week time trials. 7th in the TdF last year, 4th in the Giro 2019. So he might do really well. 1:59 ist still certainly out of reach in 30km.

Yesterday he was the most visible man on Earth. Amazing how everybody thought how Yates was gonna attack the maglia rosa and Caruso was going to ride defensively, yet in the end it was the complete opposite. Bravo Damiano, phenomenal ride and well deserved victory!

I noticed a surprising fact. He has achieved a higher place in a GT than Landa his team leader ever has. Also better than Porte, Pinot and a lot of other GC riders.

It wasn't the first time Caruso was riding for himself. He rode several times as a Captain in the early stages of his career, consistently riding into rather anonymous Top10.

Very respectable TT on Sunday and today a display of what may happen in the coming mountain stages. His terrain is coming up, plus, unlike 2021, he hasn't lost any teammates so far, if you exclude Mader having to withdraw before the start. He definitely has a shot of even winning the whole thing. Forza Damiano.
