What is it with the Irish and their doping apologists? Was this Walsh, Stokes or Kimmage?
How is what he wrote there apologizing doping?

I gave a link. Perhaps you'd be courteous enough to read it before asking daft questions?

The irish are awesome! We own this stuff - except Walsh - but he's not been living in Ireland with years!

I especially liked the way Kimmage was one of only three guys who went after michelle smith in '96 and was attacked in much the same way as he was attacked by the sky lunatics....the dopey dans of the world ;)

What bike race did Smith win? We're talking about a guy who goes to the family - it's very genetics - to explain away clearly doped performances. You're shameless.

Okay. Could you show me the part then where he apologizes doping?

A doping apologist - see several Walsh threads - blows bromides over his fav athletes without immediately pointing out that their subject is clearly lying. I have given you several examples.

I'm begining to appreciate why you have nearly 14 million posts.

You give two examples. 1) something said by someone interviewed by Kimmage. Not a single word from Kimmage there, so therefore no apologizing of doping by Kimmage. 2) Kimmage quoting another person. Again no words from Kimmage himself and no apologizing.

Can you give me just one example where he apologizes someone's doping?

Oh I agree Vaughter's BS is painful

Obviously there's no evidence that you had a taste of Digger's Kimmage fund. So I'm curious why you support a writer of fiction such as the Martin piece.

Just out of curiosity, who where the two other guys who went after Michelle Smith? Didn't one have a first name David and a surname Walsh?

Because I dont believe a clean rider can win monuments when doping is part of the fabric of the sport.

JV loves to talk about JVs genes as if that proves anything. His also has the genes of a doper, but JV forgets that.

Martin left purito for dead in the final of LBL and left a group big time juicers for dead in GdL. Clean, sure, of course he is. Sure the Irish dont dope do they now, to be sure.

I dislike dopers. I believe Martin dopes, like most of Garmin and most of the sport.

I had coffee with one of the prominent Irish journalists recently. He believes in Dan. It gladdened my heart.
The journalist was an absolute gentleman, I might add. Really lovely man.

i dont dislike dopers, i think they are human.

i was once p!$$ed off before i went thru the 12 steps of AA, aka antidopinganonymous alliterationz.

JV has been walking a tighter line on the tight rope, not too tightly, I think this is some influence, even a subconscious impulse on JV's part.

I have always said, like Hoberman of Penn State, the insight and the true exploration, not found in the mass spec gas chromotagraphy assay. nope.

the greater understanding, will be seen in social psychology, in sociology, and understanding the human in the Type A environment of pro sport. You reckon these cats will willingly forgo their ability to others getting a putatitve illegal advantage, when they can neutralise the advantage (to a degree, or skew the field in their favour?)

When you add in the D-Q epigram "marginal gains aint a pimple on the @rse and rounding error of a comprehensive doping program the like of Ferrari". Then consider, lets say a Lemon 93 VO2max (lets just assume it is not lactate or ramp test or other measurements which are a greater indicator), or Evans DID hypothetically test at 93 as a 17yo. Can the most talented athlete be 5% superior (lets just do with the rule of thumb for the thought experiment, because I know its not that simple), can an individual athlete, be 5% superior, when we know the Olympic sports in swimming and track and field are decided by 0.01% not 5%. 500 times more.

so dont look to WADA or Tygart or Quebec or Pound or Fahey to determine your "truth". <James Patrick Moynihan quote>

use your own brain Empire Crew.

(rule of thumb) no pro sportsmen will willingly sacrifice the advantage to someone taking an advantage by doping when they do not have to, and can match their doping. Red Queen Effect. jumping on the treadmill to keep standing still.

insider v outsider.

I also know, I am not the arbiter and discern(er) of truth. but folks, switch on your grey matter. even Empire Crew, I know this is a grasp, but come on, get real.

* D-Q, hope you did not take out trademark on the epigram and I am allowed to use artististic non-artistic license on the rounding error aphorism

Of all those in the sport i dislike the riders nearly the least as they are currently bottom feeders in the sport. My real ire is for the likes of Cookson, Riis, Brailsfords, JVs, Vinos etc who continue to enable the doping and see it as part of the fabric and tradition of the sport.

It is part of the fabric and tradition of the sport ...over 100 years and going strong.

Worlds 2013 - DNF
Amstel 2014 - DNF
Liege 2014 - No explanation necessary
Giro 2014 - DNF
Worlds 2014 - DNF
Fleche 2015 - DNF

It is really quite frustrating being a Dan Martin fan, one must wonder what he could have done today

Dan Martin broke 2 ribs at LBL tried to race Tour De Romandie but couldn't due to pain and now is climbing with the best in the sport in his 1st race back a month later?????

How could he train with damaged ribs to be even in any kind of shape to race at such a level. Fractured ribs normally take 6 weeks to heal and that is not while training????

Amazing how pro cyclists have these super powers..........
